“Quinua B&B is exactly how all B&Bs should be….”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 9, 2011

My husband and I just returned from a wonderful and memorable trip in Cusco and Aguascalientes/Machu Picchu. We stayed at Quinua after reading the great reviews on Tripadvisor. We were not disappointed. This B&B is spectacular in every way. We stayed in Pakarina Wasi (the smallest of the apartments) but let me tell you it was not small at all for the two of us! It was the perfect size. The apartment featured a beautiful Inca wall, kitchen, full size bed, living area, and spacious bathroom. A huge, delicious breakfast was served whenever we wanted it. They even delivered breakfast for us at 5:30am, the morning we were leaving to Machu Picchu. The B&B is strategically hidden away from all the touristy area in a quite space in San Blas.

Crisitiano and his staff were so kind and attentive. They answered any questions we had and provided us with recommendations of restaurants and things to do in Cusco. They arranged a half-day tour around Cusco and even set up a car service from Ollyantambo back to Cusco for the following week even though we were no longer going to be guests at their place.

I highly recommend this B&B to everyone considering visiting Cusco. We’ll definitely return!

I spent a total of 4 nights here last month (3 before my trip to Machu Picchu, and one after) and stayed in two different rooms. Really loved this place. The owner & his staff are super friendly and helpful. Included in the rate is a HUMUNGOUS breakfast that they deliver to your room whenever you want it. And it's delicious! Each room is like a mini-apartment so you get a lot of the conveniences of home (both rooms I stayed in had fireplaces - which is great because it gets really cold at night in Cusco). They've done a great job decorating the individual rooms. They look great and are very fun. The hotel is in San Blas, which is a cool area of Cusco, but it's still a very easy walk to the central Plaza. I highly recommend this place. The only thing to note is that it's not directly accessible from the street. You have to climb up a couple of sets of stairs and go down a little alley to reach the place. So if that's going to be a problem for you, this might not be the best place for you. (Although, on that note Cusco as a whole might not be the best place for you - lots of inclines, narrow alleys and stairs.) The only other minor thing is that the free wifi isn't that great. But at least it's free.

Room Tip: Casa Garcilazo is romantic, cozy but a little dark & Taripay Wasi which is bright and fun. Both...

Not only is this place located in a great neighborhood of Cusco - San Blas - it is situated on a hill with a beautiful view of the entire city! The owner is the nicest person you'll ever meet. He was incredibly helpful when my boyfriend broke his ankle, which was a major disaster, and we couldn't be more grateful. Thank you!! The rooms/apartments are gorgeous - very creatively designed and decorated. It is an extremely good deal for the price. Our apartment was a split-level with its own kitchen and living room, with the bedroom and shower downstairs. Really nice. The breakfast was great. There was an "honor bar" in our apartment so we didn't have to leave our room to get a bottle of wine! We loved this place, I can't think of one reason not to stay here! Word to the wise: try not to break your ankle in Cuzco. It is a complete pain in the __ to get up all of the San Blas stairs on crutches.

A very nice place to stay in cusco. Big apartments, very clean and confortable, and the owner and staff really friendly and helpfull. A minor problem, there is one or two barkling dogs nearby, but not to avoid the hotel.

We stayed here before and after the Inca Trek and I am so glad we found this gem of a hotel. From the minute we arrived, Christian (the owner) and his staff went out of their way to provide us with incredible kindness and hospitality. From the room decor, to the quiet location, to the intimate size to the amazing breakfasts - it was a real gem of a find. If visiting Cusco, I would definately stay here again!

When I arrived, I was so exhausted (I was coming from a trek) and I felt like I was at home. Cristiano, an itialian historian who is the owner, is so nice and kind, he treated us as his family. I didnt realize he was the owner until the end, he is so humble that he carry my luggage when I arrive and when I left. He really loves Andean culture and has an amazing hotel with a local design, very good taste and everything you need to spend unforgettable days in Cusco. I will come back again ;)

What a fantastic place. We needed a place to rest up, climatise to the altitude and take in Cusco-Quniua was just perfect. It is hidden away in the top part of San Blas (the most beautiful part we think of Cusco). We felt safe walking around the area at night and there are so many little streets with cafes, restaurants, museums and craft shops. The owner Christiano and the staff there cannot do enough for you, serve the most fantastic breakfast and are always on hand to help with any questions about the area or problems you may have. Yolanda (assistant) even helped us with booking a hotel for our next city and was so helpful in getting us to the right place safely.
The actual rooms vary in size and style but are finished in complete comfort and luxury. We styed in the Colonial room, with the most fantastic view over Cusco, open log fire and separate upstairs bedroom. We loved the experience so much, that we came back after our Jungle trip and stayed in modern apartment, again completely kitted out with everything you need to relax and chill out. After travelling for 3 months, we really enjoyed having the home comforts and the space to kick back. Everything you could require is there and helpfully written out in manuals, including the options of massage's and day trips.
If you like friendly, comfortable and with a hint of luxury in where you stay, these apartments definitely are for you. We were booked in to another hotel as part of our Inca Trek package, but hated it so much that we returned back to Quinua for the 3rd time!
We cant wait to return one day and would always go back and stay at Quniua, very fond memories and a fantastic experience.
