“A fantastic place to stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 30, 2011

This is a very charming, comfortable place to stay while in Cusco. Cristiano, Yolanda and their staff are very warm and helpful making for a great place to spend your time. I can't think of anything more they could do to make a visit work well! We loved our time there!

Highest praise for Quinua. We spent three nights here in May and were absolutely delighted. The two-story apartment with a great view of Cusco was comfortable and spacious. Christiano was a fantastic host who was eager to make certain our time in Cusco was perfect. Breakfasts were wonderful and served in our room with a smile 20 minutes after we called, even on our morning of departure at 6 am. Excellent wifi service. The location required an uphill walk but was close to excellent restaurant choices and well worth the effort. We hope to return to Cusco and would not stay anywhere else.

Everything about this lodging makes my A-1 list. We stayed in 2 of their rooms/apartments and found each one comfortable and cheery. Good location, quiet street. The service by the owner & staff was outstanding. Breakfast was the best in Peru, especially the chocolate croissants. Book your Cusco stay at this hotel and you will be sure to have a delightful stay.

We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel, although it already had received excellent reviews at this site. Cristian, the manager, will go to any length to make your stay pleasant. Breakfast is excellent. Service is excellent. One of the best hotels we have stayed at during all our travels, which had been many.
This hotel is set a bit off the main track, which is good, because it's quiet. However, if you have a problem walking, or climbing stairs, look for another place.
We highly recommend this place.

From the first email response we received to the final wave from the taxi departing we found it hard to fault this place.

Cristiano was a perfect host looking after us like a parent when we were sick from altitude. The breakfasts were amazing and I don't think there was anything they would not do to make your stay pleasurable.

The rooms were spotless and very comfortable. I would go back here anytime.

You will be delighted by the tastefully decorated two-floor mini-apartments. Beautiful lively colours and all you need to cook a cosy dinner if you decide to stay in for the night.
Cristiano, the owner, will make sure you have everything you need. Very early breakfast because you have to catch an early plane? Sure, no problem. You will never hear Cristiano say no to anything. He was very accommodating. My favourite room is the colonial style theme. Room number 4. I wish I could bring it home with me :-)
I would rate it an 8 over 10.

Quinua is everything you hope for when you book a B&B/hotel in a new city (well it's really a full service apartment) - it's cozy, quaint, charming, clean, in a great neighborhood (artsy neighborhood of cuzco), and the staff was really nice and always there to help. Cristiano made us feel at home from the very beginning and he and the staff was available to answer any questions we had at any time. Cristiano even offered to call a doctor when my partner got sick.

The breakfast was delicious (chocolate croissants every day included bread, jam, yogurt, this delicious local muesli with shredded coconut, coffee, orange juice, . The apartment we stayed in (on the first level) was awesome and just felt so cozy, like a home away from home. I wish we could stay at a place like Quinua in every place we traveled to. We also left for 1 night during our stay at Quinua to visit Aguas Calientes/Machu Picchu and we were able to leave some of our luggage in our apartment while we were away (since there were no guests staying in our unit that night) - which was very convenient.

There is beer, water, juice and wine, and a huge basket of food (including a make your own pasta kit if you feel like staying in and cooking) available for purchase at very reasonable prices. The fully stocked kitchen and dining area were fabulous to have. My partner and I kept saying that we would rent our unit as an apartment i we ever lived in Cuzco longer term. I didn't get to see the other units but I am sure they are all fantastic and I read here on trip advisor that all the units are great.

The only (tiny) negative is that on our last night in the apartment, the heater unit above our unit was making loud noises almost all night (sounded like a drum) so we didn't get great sleep that night, but it's okay... and we had to get up early that next morning anyway. But maybe the heater could be fixed somehow?

Remember to take your time walking uphill in san blas - we had to take it really slow due to the high altitude. Also ask the staff for the updated wifi password - the info provided in the room was out of date, but we were glad to find out (even on our last day there) it worked better w/ the network that was closer to our room.

Bottom line - you can't go wrong with booking Quinua Villa Boutique. We had an amazing stay there and I highly recommend it!
