Wear gloves and a sweater for breakfast- yes- breakfast is served outside. Ok on a warm day, but less so when the temperature is close to zero. Tea, including coca tea is available 24/7- a major plus when suffering from altitude sickness.
Rooms are comfortable and basic- no place to put clothing and only a small rack to hang things. Electric plugs are somewhat sketchy- power glitched my cell phone while recharging ( a $70 repair!)
There is no Vista, buena or otherwise, unless one walks to the end of one second floor hallway.
The location is 3 blocks from main square on a route that is uphill, but on a slightly shallower incline than our other hotel.
Would I stay there again? Doubtful. Be careful of the vendors who frequent the breakfast area- the prices and quality are not that good

Room Tip: Sounds from upper rooms tend to penetrate - may disturb sleep if people are moving around above you

I just loved it here. It really felt comfortable just lounging around, there has been great attention to detail, really artistic, great views... I had a cheaper room and shared a bathroom, but it was worth it... great breakfast too..

We stayed here a couple if nights in June. Hot water although when there were a few showers at once the pressure was average and the water was hot and cold. We had a small heater in our room so we were very comfortable although others were colder. Make sure you ask for a heater. Decent breakfast with a bit of fruit and eggs. Under 5 minutes to walk to main square, fairly quiet when we were there and really comfortable bed. Definitely one of the best places we have stayed, but also a bit pricier at $45 US per night.

A fantastic place to settle while visiting Cusco. Nice rooms, friendly staff, fair prices and a terrific atmosphere. Highly recommend this hostal, the best in Cusco.

Room Tip: #12, great room with it's own garden.

I recently returned from Cusco and stayed at this hotel for two out of the five nights. I was not all that satisfied with the not so friendly staff, the noisy unappealing rooms (dogs and people in the reception area creating most of the noise). After two nights, I ended up moving to the La Casa Escondida 100m up the hill - a much better choice (see my review). The breakfast was nice and the beds themselves were good but overall I was not all that impressed with this hotel, especially the atmosphere and lack of attention to detail. It is a little distance (10minute walk) from the main square but for me that is a positive rather than a negative because at least there is little road traffic. If you are stuck this hotel would be fine for a very short term stay.

Roomy, clean and comfortable.
Willingly stored our bags...no charge, when we climbed the Inca trail and for other excursions.
Would go back.....

Pros:
* phenomenal location near the plaza de armas and our travel agency sas travel
* very friendly staff
* lots of blankets which you will need bc cusco is freezing at night in July
* clean, un noisy, charming hostel
* private bathrooms
* solid breakfast with cereal, yogurts, bread, and eggs

Cons:
* expedia listed them as having an airport shuttle. We contacted them to no avail. Took a taxi from the airport and got ripped off. There are men in suits who will charge you 35-45 soles for the ride. Our hostel can get us the same ride for 8 soles. I wish they had arranged transportation for us and not let us get ripped off
* they don't clean your room which I didn't expect anyways given the price, but just keep that in mind
