The hostel was not too clean, not too friendly but for one or two nights it was fine. I was offered a cup of mate de coca on arrival, in order to be able to adapt to the high altitude, and the woman at the reception seemed nice. She even suggested me and my friend a place to eat in the city centre, which was a few hundred meters away.
But as the day and a half I spent in Cusco went by, I noticed there are much better places to stay, such as San Blas neighborhood: when you face the cathedral in Plaza de Armas, take the road on the cathedral's immediate right and walk up to a colourful, lively neighborhood where the artistic scene is.
Also, I had booked a bed in a dorm for three nights before arriving to Cusco, but in the end I stayed only for two nights and went to Machu Picchu on the third day. The woman made me pay half of the third night, and when I got back from MP to collect my luggage and asked to have a shower before leaving, I had to pay for the shower too... it was ok, but they could have done without it. All in all, not more than decent.More
