This was a great place to stay, with modern bathroom and a lot of character. Wooden beams on the ceilings, a super comfy bed and a nice plasma tv for relaxing. The breakfast was really really good and the owner was really helpful in recommending restaurants and places to visit. There are only 3 rooms, so it's always really quiet. I have already recommended this hotel to friends and family!!

My husband and I stayed at Second Home Cusco at the end of August for 3 days and had a very enjoyable stay. I have made the reservation a number of months prior, and had always recieved very quick responses and always recieved very detailed explanations to my questions. We even had to make a very last minute change right before departing for Peru and Second Home was very accomodating, didn't ask any questions and simply made the change for us.

The staff were very friendly and helpful as well. They were very eager to help, but not 'at your face' kind of eager. It's more "you know they are there for you if you need them" kind of eager. For example, we had to have our breakfast at 4:30am on the last day so we can be picked up for Inca Trail hike, and they were there with the food ready for us, with a smile! If we want to use the laptop or borrow a book, they gladly let us. The kindness just felt very genuien.

The room was very clean, and we loved the nice clean blankets and pillows. They were bright white and just very very clean. The bed can compare to beds say at Marriott.

The room we had also had a seating area and that was very pleasant just to have a seperate area to hang out in the room. They also gave us 2 bottle of water ever day and that was great too since we had been very careful with water while at Peru.

Originally we thought because our room was right above the inner courtyard and by the entrance and it might be noisy, but it was absolutely fine.

We also quite enjoyed the location. It's a good 5-10 minutes walk to the 'main square' and still very easy to get to stores and restaurant. And it felt very safe to walk around. I actually think it made the experience more 'autentic' to be a bit away from all the tourists and shops.

If you want somewhere with very fancy hotel ameneties e.g. spa, gym, doorman, room services, then this probably won't meet those criteria. But if you want a bed and breakfast that is quaint , personal and friendly, this is the place to stay at Cusco.

We enjoyed this even more than the fancier and more expensive Andina Hotel in Cusco. The owner, Carlos, son of the great artist Victor Delfin, was a joy to talk to; and his hotel is a very nice retreat in the artist district of Cusco, in close walking distance down to the main square.

We stayed at Second Home Cusco for 2 nights before we hiked the Inca Trail, and 2 nights afterwards.
The staff were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. They are also very accommodating. We left our luggage at Second Home while we hiked the Inca Trail and it was waiting in our room when we returned from the trail. We ordered a wake-up call for 5:30 AM on the morning we were to leave for the trail, and we got a personal knock on the door to wake us up, and breakfast was made for us, despite the fact that it was nearly 2 hours before the breakfast service was to begin. They arranged for us to be picked up and taken to the airport, and the cost was covered by the B&B.
One evening, we thought our ATM card had been stolen and we rushed back to the hotel. In our hurry, we broke the key in the door when we arrived back at the hotel. It was no problem for the staff at all - they promptly gave us another key, and helped us call the bank to resolve our issues.
We also forgot to bring our own toilet paper for the Inca Trail, and they gladly gave us a roll to take with us. They provided us with coca tea upon arrival and whenever we felt we needed it, and gave us extra bottled water when we were thirsty.
We stayed in two rooms while there - the upstairs balcony room was wonderful - big, and very nicely decorated. The owner's father is an artist, and many of his pieces are displayed throughout the B&B. It is beautiful and chic. As others have stated, you can hear people early in the morning, but it didn't bother us at all because we wanted to explore as much as possible.
And - it is up a hill from the main square. We were winded nearly every time we climbed the hill. But, it was a quick walk to the attractions in Plaza de Armas, and I always felt safe on my walks to and from the B&B. We needed to use the internet a lot, and it was never an issue for us to use the computer to read/send an email.
If you want a clean, safe place to stay, personalized service, a chance to chat with another couple over breakfast, and a staff that will go out of their way to make you feel welcome, this is the place. If you want a buffet dinner, views that overlook the city, a door that opens up to all the action and a gym - don't stay here.
Highly recommended. Will stay here again if we return to Cusco.

I cannot rave about this place enough. I actually spent a week here after staying at second home peru (which was also gorgeous!). The staff are amazing, Carlos who runs it, was amazingly helpful, from phonecalls to recommendations and even helping me get some money back from a tour agent that had overcharged me! The rooms are spacious, filled with light and modern but with personality. Location is not in the middle of the plaza which means you will actually get some sleep. What else can I say but stay here?! I certainly will again when I come back next year.

I was traveling by myself and Carlos made it so easy coming into Cusco....complimentary taxi pickup from the airport, coca tea to ease the altitude changes when I arrived, assistance with meeting up with my trekking office........and the place is beautiful, decorated in art by his father. So comfortable, clean...really felt like I was coming home when I came back to the place at the end of the day. The rest of the staff was always helpful, as well. And fresh, hot breakfast every morning, complimentary of course. Don't stay anywhere else in Cusco!

The Second Home is very quaint. It is a quick cab ride from the airport and then a short walk up from the cobble stone road. The walk can be challenging for some because is it uphill though you can stop and rest and take in the views along the way. The scenery is stunning-fabulous colonial architecture. Many of the streets are lined with perfect Inca stonework. Carlos was our host at the Second Home. He was delightful as were his staff. They all make you feel like you are staying with friends or family.
