We really enjoyed our stay at Second Home Cusco. With a complimentary ride from the airport and help with our bags down the carless cobblestone street that Second Home is on, we immediately felt the hospitality of the place. We arrived a 8am in the morning and Carlos had our rooms ready for us to check in. We were so thankful to be able to shower and nap after 24 hours of travel from Seattle, we couldn't believe our luck. Our rooms were large with a separate living room.

Carlos, the owner of Second Home Cusco, comes from a background of hospitality. He spent 10 years running a bed and breakfast in Manhattan before opening a B&B in his home country of Peru. He was very interesting to talk to and we learned about running a B&B in the East Village in the 90s.

He was also very attentive and ensured that all of our needs were met. When our Inca Trail guide was late for our orientation, he made several calls to ensure that everything was okay. He also gave us great tips on how we could see the Inti Raymi festival without tickets.

The breakfast spread was always plentiful, coffee was strong and the eggs were cooked perfectly.

The only detractor was that we heard a lot of music at night, but we later found out that it was due a music festival on the top of the hill that was an annual event. So if you come on any regular weekend you wouldn't run into this issue. And even if you came during this particular weekend, any San Blas Hotel would have the same noise issue.

Overall a fantastic experience. Thanks!

We arrived at night on the train from Aguas Calientes to Poroy. The host, Carlos arranged our transport which was waiting for us when we arrived at the station. By the time we reached the small inn, we were very tired. Carlos met us and immediately saw to our needs. He asked the time of our flight and told us what time we would need to leave. He also arranged the transport. He said breakfast would be whenever we wanted it.

The suite we had was comfortable a nd the skylights interesting. We could see the moon when we took a shower. The soaking tub would have been nice to use if we'd had more time. It was not very comfortable to shower in. I was concerned i might fall due to the countours and material used to make the tub. I think it was fibreglass.

The beds were extremely comfortable and we loved the wooden floors.

In the morning Carlos made us breakfast in the kitchen and chatted to us. He freshly squeezed orange juice, fried us some eggs, and also provided cereal and fresh fruit. He is really a great host especially when I compare him to the owner we encoutered at the Hotl Arquelogo. There the brash owner shouted at workers in a demeaning way, in full view and earshot of guests. I wish we had stayed at Second Home for the two days we had in Cusco before we went to Macchu Picchu. Although we had to leave by 9 am on a Sunday morning, we managed to walk down to San Blas and experience some of the flavour of this section of town. Very artsy. We enjoyed it and wished we had more time there.

The hotel is very small with only three rooms so you're lucky if you are able to get a night there. I would strongly reccommend it. Just note the floors can be squeaky.

Carlos put a bed in our living room are for my mother instead of us using a pull-out couch. My mother greatly appreciated this and slept well.
My stay here has me wanting to return to Cusco. Definitely stay here!!!

Room Tip: I booked the balcony suite. Not sure thats what igot. There are only three rooms. Ithink each has great character. Just explain what you need todo and Carlos will surely choose the one best suited to your needs.

A beautiful B&B located in the heart of the historic center of Cusco. What really sets it apart is the terrific customer service. Carlos was a fabulous host and went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable. He helped arrange a tour so we could take in the must-see sights of Cusco. It's a small B&B so book early-- you can book directly on their website.

We arrived at the hotel late in the evening, exhausted from trekking. Carlos greeted us warmly and helped us get settled in immediately.

One of my friends was feeling sick, so he kindly offered to order soup and call the doctor for us. His generosity did not end there. He was compassionate and attentive throughout our stay. He was truly on top of things from the moment we walked in the door.

Carlos takes pride in his hotel and his service. It is clear in everything that he does. We felt at home, even though we were thousands of miles away.

The hotel is a bit more secluded than some other properties, but I would definitely recommend for a quaint stay with great service.

Thank you for taking such great care of us!

Staying at this B&B was a great choice. I travelled with a couple of friends to Cusco in April and we could not have felt more welcomed. Carlos was an amazing host, always looking after us and making sure we enjoyed our trip. The hotel is well located, a few minutes walk from the main square and the cathedral. I can without doubt recommend this amazing B&B.
