The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Great rooms each with a balcony overlooking the inner courtyard. King size comfortable bed and nice bathroom with a huge shower. Loved the modern decor. Good food too.

This is the place to stay. Their hospitality is devine. For some reason we totally lucked out. Our rooms were large, beautiful and clean. The service was outstanding. The food was delicious. The spa was a luxury. If you have a chance to visit Cusco you will be more than delighted if you choose Casa Cartagena. If only I could have stayed there longer.

Room Tip: We were trekking to Macchu Pichu so wtih our visit we stayed in 2 different rooms. I all I can say i...

A beautiful combination of colonial and modern styles, it has an internal garden courtyard with water features. Staff is very friendly with uniformly excellent English. They offer free coca tea, free bottled water, and a free Pisco Sour-making lesson. Their breakfast buffet is extensive from European style bread to local cheeses, fruits, and hot dishes. The room was large, elegant with a modern spa bathroom to die for- including terrycloth robes and slippers. It is located centrally yet off a quiet plaza on a quaint cobblestone street with very little traffic. The bed was comfortable though firm. Our amazing travel agency-Kuoda booked us here.

Room Tip: 1st floor rooms have their own small outdoor patio with table and chairs .

I really enjoyed my stay in this hotel. The location is perfect being situated in a quiet area very close to the main square. My room was great, quite spacious, clean and I loved the decoration, especially the ceramic tilling in the bathroom. I ate alot at the hotel as the chefs food was delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful especially Eddie the barman who had a lot of local knowledge and helped me to plan my trip. I would highly recommend staying in this hotel when visiting Cusco.

We spent our first night of our honeymoon in Cusco at this boutique hotel. After arriving on an early morning flight, our taxi took us to the hotel around 10am. Knowing that check-in was at noon, I expected to drop our bags off and explore the city until the room was ready. We lucked out though! Isabel lead us to a gorgeous, quiet courtyard where we were served fresh pineapple juice and Coca tea while she completed the check-in process. The room was on the second floor with a small balcony and was very spacious, comfortable, and romantic. We were told the hotel would provide bath salts and candles if we wanted to take a romantic bath. We scheduled 9pm massages, and then coordinated a half day tour of Pisac. Isabel booked both the private car and the spa. The next morning we were very surprised by the amazing breakfast buffet. Fresh fruit, homemade quiches, and a variety of homebaked and roasted foods. We didn't have to lift a finger. Everything was so perfect, and we really had the perfect start to our honeymoon. Staying at Casa Cartegena was such a great way to transition to Peru, the altitude, and relax while preparing for a trekking adventure.

The only downside to the stay was that it was too pricey for our budget to spend more than one night. We were very happy with our stay, and wished we could have stayed longer!

Room Tip: Arrive as soon as possible with the expectation that the hotel will hold your bags, if necessary. Ge...

Everything was simply perfect.
- Hotel Room : great, spacious, clean and very nicely decorated
- Room Bathroom : absolutely great. The shower is a must with the Ceramic blocks
- Restaurant : we had several breakfast and dinners.
They have a first class chef, the food, the cheeses, desserts, pastries...
everything was superb
- The SPA and Pool area : let them surprise you. For us it was a rare moment.
The overall experience was phenomenal. We highly recommend this place when visiting Cuzco.

This is a real boutique hotel, with a few room but with a real care of details and quality.

The location is perfect as it is at 2 steps from Plaza de Armas, but in a very quiet area, the internal patio gives an additional feeling of quiet to the hotel and at night it is nice to see the Cristo Blanco from there.

While the structure of the house has been kept, the internal style is very modern (design), for us after some days in Peru it was very nice to find the furniture from the same brands that the one we have at home.

My room had sufficient space, while many reviewers didn't like the bathroom I particularly like mine and the Occitane products is a nice treat.

The staff was very nice, you could see there was some good training behind it.
We enjoyed the Pisco class, for us that was the first time we could try it and this will stay in our memory.
We had lots of fun and the barman was amazing even if we speak also Spanish when he heard we were Italian speaker he proposed us to switch in Italian in order to practise his language skills.

I used the spa and it was very nice and clean, no swimming pool but a huge jacuzzi and a great relaxing area.
With my husband we had also massages and we were very satisfied, the staff was experienced and pleasant.
My only complaint would be that there is no gym but a yoga room (and this would have been ok, as I am mainly using mat with weights) which opens only at 8 or 9 (I do not recall exactly) which is too late, when a tipical day of visits in Peru starts at 7-8.

Food & Beverage, well in that area there are still some efforts to be made.
While the breakfast was good and had a touch of "like grandma used to do it" we thought that the choice was too limitated, while the dinner we had there one night was very bad one of the worse in Peru, training is urgent for the chef!

If I ever go back to Cusco I will go again to this hotel and I recommend it.

Room Tip: Ground Floor.
