“Just run down, No hot water, Not clean...Look around”
Reviewed March 2, 2011

Ok, We got into town and had a guy from the bus station tell us about this great place to stay. The place looked OK at first but we soon learned that the hotel has NO hot water and the rooms are dirty. The toilet leaked on the bathroom floor so it was wet with water or pee all the time. The floors are rotten. After the front desk told us to run the water for 15 min. Nothing ever happen. The bathrooms have a sewer smell. We ended up checking out that night and went 2 doors down from them and got a hotel with hot water, free coffee and tea 24hrs for the same price. Look around you will find better. This place is just falling apart and you can see the owner is not putting money back into his place. Oh one more thing the WiFi only works outside your room.

IF you need to get a hostal in Cusco make sure you have good references, as there are too many hostals and hotels and they mostly do what they want. The Machu Picchu is OK but in the few days that I stayed there one room didn't get hot water and a group of tourists that included one with an 8 month old baby, had left a deposit for a reservation and came back to the hostal at 9 00 PM at night to found themselves without a room! I don't recommend it as it seems to have a high luck factor instead of good and proper service!

I arrived at crack of dawn in the morning so really didn't have much of an option and stayed here. Shower pressure was really bad. the rooms by the street are super noisy. I bought a Machu Picchu tour package at the front desk and got completely screwed. And they weren't helpful at all when I asked to get my money back...they just gave me the run around saying that someone else was responsible for the tours blah blah blah. They don't know the concept of customer service.

This hostel was recommended to us by someone at a discount hostel. Due to this recommendation and the fact that it was low season, we were able to get our matrimonial room for $20. The rooms are usually $30. It has a good location, beautiful courtyard, and spacious rooms. Unfortunately, the service is lacking. The 2 main desk people we encountered tried to sell us tour packages and hostel rooms in other cities. When we asked for towels, we were told to wait and finally after several hours, they found us small hand towels to use for showering. Eventually, they did give us large towels near the end of the night. We were in room 108 and the bathroom floor was always wet. The shower did not drain very well. When we flushed the toilet, it would drain all over the floor. When we notified the front desk about this, they were not to be bothered and told us to wait. The breakfast is ok...bread, butter, jam, tea/coffee. However, I would not recommend spending full (and even discount) prices at this hostel. We left after one night. There are several better and cheaper hostels down the street.

Nice hotel with a pretty inner court.
Price is negociable especially if you stay several nights.
Unfortunately it is very noisy (walls are very thin and there is a bar/club next to the hotel).
Breakfast is awful !
