This was recommended to us by a couple on our tour. Food was delicious. Service was a bit slow considering we were the only table but I think they like to let you linger. Have the typical Peruvian dishes - they are their specialty. The chocolate mousse was outstanding. It's made in a special manner because of the altitude. Have the Special Kiss coffee - the homemade whipped cream is like Irish Creme flavored ice cream. To die for!

A brilliant chef trained in France preparing fantastic traditional Peruvian food - sometimes with a French twist! We ate here two of our three nights in Cusco, but we wished it had been all three! Being 20 meters from the Plaza, the prices were noticeably lower - by about 1/4. The food was also better here than directly on the Plaza.

The typical Peruvian dishes that many tourists enjoy are all fantastic. I had the roasted guinea pig (just to say I did) and it was delicious. They have alpaca steaks in many preparations - traditional Peruvian, grilled American style, or more up-scale interpretations. Trout is also a traditional dish of south Peru, and they have many DELICIOUS preparations. I had a fantastic meal of trout in a tart and semi sweet currant sauce with wilted spinach. My sister had trout merier (garlic, lemon, capers - unbelievable, best dish we tasted in Peru) with steamed veggies and potatoes. The prices were so reasonable - between 7 and 12 US$ (cheaper for chicken, more for fish). They also have a fixed lunch menu option with two choices for 8 soles ($2.50 US!!!).

The soups (cream of asparagus and cream of potato), appetizers (especially the stuffed peppers), and drinks (a great pisco sour) were all perfectly done.

Atmosphere is cozy and comfortable, and the hospitality/service was wonderful.

You can't miss this restaurant if you're in Cusco!
