Description: The restaurant "El Paititi " (El Dorado) was once part of the palaces of the Inca nobility and was the residence of Tupac Yupanqui, the sovereign tenth Inca and successor of Pachacutec, who took correinado probably between 15 and 20 years. After the death of his father became absolute position of power around 30 years. The place was part of the religious and cultural center of the capital of the Inca empire. After the conquest was occupied by the Spaniards who surrounded him temples and built mansions. Our cuisine is complemented with Peruvian dishes from the region of Cusco , national and international . We also complemented with a proposal of Shushi , pastas and pizzas.

“Definitely overpriced for the quality”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 11, 2011

We went here on a recommendation, and the food was decent (maybe a little overdone), but the service was slow, the room was cramped, and the prices were fairly high.

It was our first meal since getting to Peru, so we had little to base our opinion on until we had a few meals under our belts. That said, looking back on the meal, I wouldn't recommend it.

“WAY better places in Cusco for the money”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 8, 2011

It was our last night in Cusco, I was determined to eat cuy before I left, and our hotel recommended this place. In short, it was pretty disappointing. This place obviously survives solely on its location on the plaza. I had the cuy (which happened to be the at most expensive price I saw in the entire valley), served with literally a few kernels of corn and a couple of slices of bland boiled potatoes. My wife had the trout, served with mashed potatoes that were at least 75% butter. The service was pretty clueless as well, with wrong drinks and side dishes being brought out, and the place overall wasn't the cleanest. In summary, skip it, because there are a hundred other places in Cusco to choose from.

“Nice but ceviche was not correct”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 11, 2011

Server pleasant. Nice touch of providing complimentary Pisco Sour. Crawfish ceviche; crawfish had been boiled and then juice added, and not marinated as ceviche should be.

“Great food but unfriendly server”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 24, 2011

After a long day on the road, we just wanted a light dinner and sleep. Paititi was just around the corner from our hotel, so we decided to eat there.

The restaurant itself is small with charming decor. The menu was quite extensive.

Our server seemed quite indignant that all we wanted was soup. He was very cold and curt and inattentive after our order.

The soup was very good and very hearty. We had a chicken quinoa soup and a seafood and quinoa soup both of which were delicious.

With the huge selection of restaurants in Cusco, we can't recommend this one based on our server's attitude. We went to Inka Grill and Pacha Papa's (walk up the street to San Blas area) which were both excellent.

“Really Nice Little Restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 25, 2010

My family and I had a really nice meal at Paititi. We all ordered a different Alpaca dinner
and shared. All were excellent. It's a small, comfortable restaurant with friendly staff and
good Peruvian food. It's right on the main square, so the location is terrific.
