The travel agency in Cusco withheld some information. When signing up, the agent was not clear or was intentionally not making it clear some of the information. For first timer, it is important to clarify all the details of the tour package. and refrain from the assumption that "everything is taken care of". e.g. when I booked the package to go from Cusco to Puno, the agent told that we would use "wonder peru" shuttle bus. This shuttle was roomy. But don't assume that when you come back from puno to Cusco, it would be the same bus. We came back on a local bus which was bearable and quite stuffy. I just wished the agent had told us and we'd have had less surprise when coming back. You would hear agent saying "everything will be taken care of". Ask the agent to get into details as to what the package covers in great details as they would intentionally gloss over some details. And when you have assumptions, you would end up paying additional (some additional charges may pop up along the way under the umbrella of "everything will be taken care of"). I believed the agent had been ambiguous intentionally as part of their salary is commission-based. There were a couple other small details that just made me feel not being treated as a customer fairly. In the end, when you pay lots of money to the tour agency, you at least want to feel being treated normally, instead of unfairly, or being cheated as they (he) withheld information. I personally don't recommend this travel agency and encourage ppl to shop around more if you have time.
It is suggested that travelers not sign up with travel agencies in Cusco to go to Puno. One can go to Puno and sign up with a travel agency in puno. That would reduce the cost by 50%, which I later learned.
I would not recommend signing up with most of the agencies in Cusco unless you really know they would deliver a reasonable OK service.
