We stayed in a dorm before the Inka trail, rooms were cold but there were plenty of blankets. Bathrooms were cold too as was the tv room upstairs. Breakfast was bread, my sister is coeliac so she had a banana, not ideal.
After the Inka trail we had a twin room which was fab, bathroom was stunning. For the little extra cost I'd recommend this over the dorms.
Everyone was really friendly working there, checked out an hour late as we were shattered on our last day and was no trouble at all.

Very happy to recommend this friendly hostel. Cheap, close to the centre of town and very helpful staff. We stayed for 3 nights before a trek and 2 nights following it, Hot showers particularly appreciated.

After reading reviews we had big expectations, but we had a few negative things. We slept at room number 9, it was very noisy during the night from the traffic with the constantly horns, also from the people at the opposite room, who have to use the same hallway with noisy floor.
Wifi was terrible slow or didn't work at all. We asked for an extra night, not possible, because it was full. Ok that can happen, no problem, but because of that we changed our plans and we wan't to leave one day earlier, the owner was really not happy with that!! We had 3 breakfast and every morning 2 of the 4 breads were really old, the marmelade was not enough for the bread.
Positive thing is the nice house and it is clean!

Room Tip: If you want to sleep not room number 9

We had a great stay here. Javier and the staff are lovely and very helpful. It's only a 15 minute walk to the main square, with other cafes and restaurants along the way. The bathrooms were always clean, the water was never cold and we were able to get our washing done at a reasonable price. Breakfast varied each day and was included in the cost. Our room was spacious and there were luggage lockers in the lounge. A hostel to definitely recommended!

We stayed here before and after our Inca trek. It is a 15 minute walk from the main square, but not hard to work out. Javier is more than accommodating with any requests, and emailed back promptly when we needed him to. Breakfast was great, eggs one morning pancakes another. Great coffee! Rooms were kept spotless by the staff and hot water all the time. More than happy with this hostel!

Located about a 15 minute walk from the main Plaza this place is seriously cheap and great value for money. We stayed here for 3 nights then another after completing the Inca Trail. Stored our luggage safely for free. Staff are helpful and friendly. Laundry service available at reasonable price. Rooms clean and tidy, smelt nice and hot water in the shower. Nice roof terrace and use of computer. Wi-Fi not bad for surfing but bit sketchy for the likes of FaceTime etc. Breakfast fine for the price and often with eggs or pancake or juice etc as an "extra". Would recommend.

I really enjoyed my stay at Hospedaje Turistico Recoleta in Cusco- I was here to climb Machu Picchu, so wanted somewhere comfortable, relaxing and welcoming to stay- this place ticks all the boxes. Really clean, hot showers, great breakfast, comfortable beds, lovely staff and a pleasure to come home to, after a hard trek up to Machu Picchu!
I arrived at 4am on a night bus and was happily shown to the TV room where I could sleep until check-in opened, on their comfy sofas. Their DVD selection is the best I have seen whilst travelling round South America for 10 months.
To top it off, Javier, the lovely owner, was an absolute star- I left some personal items at the hostel and he amazingly was able to post them to my next hostel in Lima so I could get them back- this is wonderful personal service- thank you Javier!
A really lovely hostel. Some other reviews mentioned the distance from the centre, but for me this was not a problem- a nice walk into town, and if returning late, the taxis (easy to find) are very cheap- a few soles- back to the hostel.
