Stay was pleasant. Sheets clean. Lady at front desk not very friendly at times. I asked if the water was okay to drink and she said I could try it. I asked if it was filtered and she said no, but I could try it. She was not very forthcoming with her information. Don't get rooms facing the street because it's loud. Cars honking all night and morning. Breakfast is a larger spread, but no gringo food really. Wifi is extremely slow when lots of people are staying there, almost not worth the frustration of logging in and it's available in most rooms, inky common area. Shower was great, hot water and good pressure. Overall a decent stay, but could have been better.

I stayed at the Prisma with a group of 31 high school students. We had so many issues with restaurants in the Sacred Valley handling a rowdy group of this size but every time we ate at the Prisma the service was really fantastic. The food is well prepared and they serve great coffee (and apple pie). The waitress, Carmen (I think) was very sweet and patient with our kids. As for the hotel, it was clean and comfortable. Don't get a room right on the first floor if you want to go to bed early, though. And the wifi is so slow that they probably shouldn't even advertise that they have it. They do at least have two desktop computers available for guests to use the internet on. Overall, great place for a group of American teenagers who are unused to travelling and want to be comfortable after long days of sight seeing.

Room Tip: Get a room on the third or fourth floor, away from the road.

The rooms were very basic. I stayed here as part of a G Adventures tour. Here are some tips for your stay:

1. They have an exchange at the desk. It's convenient, but you will get a better rate at the nearby ATMs
2. There is a Mega Supermercado right around the corner. It is a 45 second walk and is FAR cheaper than buying water at the hotel
3. The laundry service is excellent. After the Inca Trail, there were smells in my clothes that I doubted would ever come out. Laundry service returned fresh, clean clothes and gear. Very cheap. They charge by the kilo. WELL worth the price for the convenience of having the hotel take care of everything while I was out.
4. I would only ever eat breakfast at the hotel, and only then because it was free. The meals you will get in the the city will be as cheap as eating here and will be much more exciting.
5. Bring earplugs.
6. Check your shower vent to make sure it is closed. Many of them open onto stairways/common areas and will give amazing views of your body to passersby.

All in all, I would highly recommend Prisma. It posed an excellent value. Keep in mind the relative wealth level of Cusco, and I think you'll also appreciate the value of this lodging.

Stayed here three nights in total as part of a G Adventures tour. Rooms are clean, and offer warm showers (which we were oh so grateful for on return from the Inca Trail!). Some rooms have wifi, and if no access, you can get it in the lobby. TV with Spanish and English channels. Good location with lots within an easy walk - restaurants, bars and main tourist sights.

However as most people are staying here as part of a tour its a bit of a transitional hotel and therefore is noisy all the time! The parquet wood flooring in the corridors doesn't help - it carried the noise,

Reception staff generally friendly. Though think it's time to get new hairdryers - the two I borrowed were both broken, and I was cautioned not to put it on full as it'd blow the electrics lol!

Breakfast was okay - one of the better ones we had during our stay in Peru. It's buffet so you can help yourself to cereals, breads, juices, warm drinks and fruit.

Oh and if it's your first stop at altitude, there is a lift which helps instead of getting breathless climbing the stairs... however we didn't clock the lift until we returned post-trail, oh well!

There are definitely better places to stay in Cusco but for us, apart from the noise, I guess it was okay and served it's purpose.

Room Tip: Higher floor is probably better, more likely to be a bit quieter with less people traffic at all hou...

The Prisma hotel is located only a few blocks from the historic main square and 2 blocks from the Qoricancha Temple of the Sun. Room & hotel amenities include; private bathrooms, internet, safe deposit, heating, cable TV, 24 hours reception, business center, restaurant and laundry service.

The staff was not as friendly as we were used to, but were never rude.
Great location and breakfast was included but not great selection.

Unique hotel in the historic district within easy walking distance of Plaza de Armas. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Dining room caters to a variety of tastes. Staff are friendly and helpful. Some rooms can be a bit noisy due to its location on a main street. Breakfast is a bit of a mish mash with no hot items, but a good selection.

If you are looking for a five star chain hotel, this isn't the place for you, but if you are looking for something with local character in the heart of the City this is a good choice.

Room Tip: Ask for a non-ground floor room not facing the main street.

We stayed in Prisma Hotel for two nights as part of the G Adventures Inca Trail. We moved to Prisma Hotel after staying at a great hostel in Cusco. Given Prisma Hotel is called a hotel we were expecting an upgrade from a hostel, but this was not the case.

The rooms were fine with private bathrooms. Breakfast is included which is a cold buffet. The location is OK, but not as close to the central plaza as other hostels. Given the price quoted in the room, I would not want to pay this when there is at least one hostel offering similar quality at a much less price.
