A Wonderful, beautiful hotel with a great location. Rooms are in the new section and nicely appointed. Breakfast is a highlight with a live harpist, Bar and restaurant are great. The only complaint is that the charge you 8 soles for a small bottle of water that you can buy for1.2 soles around the corner and the first bottle is not free as it was in the other 4 hotels we stayed in. Water is essential and I don't like being ripped off like this , just add it on before I sign up!

The hotel is in a converted, historic mint building in the beautiful world heritage old town and an easy walk to the sights and the nicer restaurants. The lobby, bar and dining rooms are in the old building and are delightful, with stone walls, soaring ceilings and beautiful flower arrangements. By contrast, our room was in a modern extension tacked on the back of the historic building, which wasn't at all pleasant. It looked onto a stairwell and had no external light. The room furnishings were basic, more the standard of a budget hotel. It wasn't particularly quiet and there was a sign in the stairwell asking people to respect other guests. The bathroom products were nothing special and there was no shower gel. At breakfast there was a chef making omelettes, which was nice. By contrast they cheaped-out and had some sort of orange drink rather than juice and the "granola" was puffed wheat rolled in some kind of fine grain like quinoa. An espresso was "extra" and had to be signed for. The service was generally good. They put us in contact with colonial tours, which gave us a budget, but memorable tour of Colca canyon.

Dear guest,

Thank you for choosing our Private Collection Arequipa hotel for your stay and for sharing your experience.

As you mention, our hotel was built on the old Mint, National Historic Landmark built in 1794. However, we regret to know your room did not meet your expectations and if you could not rest properly because of the external noise. As well, we have already shared your comments about the breakfast with our team, in order to improve our service.

We hope you can give us a second chance to serve you in the future at any of our properties throughout the country.

Sincerely,

The Casa Andina Team

A beautiful charming place with excellent service, a great restaurant and lovely breakfast restaurant experience. The reception staff really knows how to inform you and it is a haven centrally located on a quiet street away from the hustle and bustle of the town. I loved Arequipa and I love this hotel.

I had a superb hot stone massage in the spa. I am very picky about my massages and this one was excellent.

Once more our travel agent in Peru chose these hotels , we will be staying for the next 2 weeks in Peru. Lovely place, charming, ancient building from the 17th century but very well preserved. Interesting decor, very friendly staff, the waiters are just adorable, the food is excellent and breakfast was just too much for your eyes! we loved the place..and we thank the staff for being so helpful and the Manager who personally assisted us at the emergency hospital for my husbands treatment, this was his second time to get food poisoning!! Muchos gracias from our hearts!

Room Tip: Always try to upgrade your rooms to a suite..

The Casa Andina is in a gorgeous ancient building from the 17th century, fully adapted to modern comforts. The public spaces in particular are astonishingly beautiful, with a number of courtyards and even a little chapel. Breakfast is a delight, sitting in the courtyard listening to a harpist playing, whilst eating freshly cooked eggs done in whatever style you want by the chef. The staff are helpful, friendly and very attentive. Highly recommended!

When you walk into this hotel you feel like you are staying in a castle. The rooms had big comfortable beds, and the nice thick walls make it very quiet. Breakfast buffet was great with many choices and the live musician was a nice touch. Location is excellent for exploring the culturally-rich part of Arequipa (the monastery tour I highly recommend). Staff was excellent and accommodating. Stayed with my kids over Christmas and the hotel was so cool they didn't even miss Santa!
