Just around the corner of the Monastry, the place to be. Excellent service, perfect breakfast en fine rooms. The lobby invites you to sit and relax. The service of the staff is acurate. The design of the hotel brings the old days with the the new styles together

Spent one night here on two occasions and both were outstanding. The service and the rooms were both excellent. We especially received outstanding service on both of our visits from Juan Carlos an outstanding individual who couldn't do enough to make you comfortable.

I think without doubt the nicest hotel I have stayed at. Intimate, comfortable and most opposite to the mundane Hi Rise Hiltons. The restoration work done here is outstanding with seemingly no expense spared. The rooms are clean, quiet. The staff are friendly and welcoming. For me, being sent away on short notice for work just on Xmas was not great, my wife was 8 months pregnant 1000s of miles away. But staying here was relaxing and so pleasant, it eased the tension of not exactly wanting to be away from home.

Every weekday breakfast in a semi outdoor courtyard ( and Chapel) with a Harp player setting a peaceful state of mind prior to my workday.

If I had to complain.. I can't. My only comment is that the cost of room service food and the restaurant are way up. I was ill one day and stayed in my room. Ordered basic bowl of potato soup.. 28 Soles. Now that was crazy. So I do suggest to walk for 5 minutes to find heaps of excellent reastaurants nearby and for 28 Soles you'll get a full on meal anywhere. At Casa Andina expect to pay 30% more than nearby restaurants. I ate here twice and it was OK. Service of course was outstanding.

Thanks to Willy and special thanks to Juan-Carlos who should teach customer service to the entire hospitatily industry.

Stay here!

Room Tip: Rooms 108 - 112 can be a little noisy betwen 6-9pm. I think there is a maintenance room underneath...

Casa Andina hotels may be part of a hotel chain but each property is different and this one is no exception. Enter through huge timber doors from the street into a wonderful lobby space that has been beautifully restored. Lots of brickwork, cane furniture and plants give it a unique look.

Breakfast is served each morning in the courtyard off the lobby. The selection is not huge but covers all bases. You will find eggs made to order, real fruit juice, endless coffee, toast, jams, yoghurt, cereals and fresh fruit. We particularly enjoyed the hot vegetable dishes, taking our chance at breakfast in a country with meat and carb laden meals.

There are computers in a separate alcove off the lobby for those who are not travelling with iPads. The in house restaurant had some interesting menu options but we chose to eat out; it seemed very quiet with the odd senior tourist couple eating early.

Our room, 305, was in the new part of the hotel and had windows overlooking an internal light well. We were able to open the windows at night for some fresh air. It was nicely furnished and very comfortable with a good selection of toiletries in the bathroom. Whilst the bed had good linen we found the pillows very high and hard for our liking.

Apart from the safe, dressing gowns and slippers, we loved having a jug with tea, coffee and crema supplies for making hot drinks. Much more convenient than calling room service, going to a café or having coca tea in the entry foyer.

The hotel is within walking distance to all of the main attractions in Arequipa, the closer of these being the Catalina Monastery. The main eat streets and Plaza de Armas are approx. 15 mins walk.

A transfer from the airport with the hotel is 37 soles. Whilst this was convenient we would probably use one of the taxis at the airport on a future visit. There is a tourist bureau at the airport and plenty of good registered taxis.

We would stay again but not when a mining conference is on as we paid a premium for our room.

This is the second Casa Andina Private Collection hotel we stayed in, first one being on Lake Titicaca in Puno, Peru. This one had a distinct flavor. The hotel was built out of the white stone typical of the historical center of the city of Arequipa. CLEAN!!!! The service personnel answered our every need, friendly and helpful. The inner open-air courtyard was the perfect place for our breakfast buffet, dozens of choices of food, both hot and cold, accompanied by enchanting music offered up by an Andean harp player. Our room was outstanding, great shower, large thick bath towels, loads of crispy white sheets and blankets with six pillows on a huge king-size bed. We walked everywhere. Two blocks from Santa Catalina and San Francisco streets, where all the restaurants are. Cosmopolitan flavor, in that we ate at a Moroccan restaurant and an Italian restaurant, both of which offered out-of-the-ordinary menus. We walked to the local city market, FULL of cheeses, meat, fruit, vegetables, clothes, textiles, just a great place to walk around and shop! We'd go back again and again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the inner courtyard. We started in a room near the inner courtyard and cou...

Very impressed by the Spanish colonial archtecture mixed with modern technology and innovation. The interiors are very impressive, we had a comfortable nights stay, good breakfast. I would recommend this hotel to anyone interested in architecture or design to get some inspiration.

We stayed for two nights in one of the more modern rooms of this thoughtfully restored colonial building. The room was comfortable and very clean at the very end of a ground level corridor. Other comments on trip advisor suggest some grander accommodation is available in other parts of the complex. We dined on the first night in the handsomely restored rooms that comprise the hotel's more formal restaurant. We enjoyed the tastiest ceviche experienced in our 40 days in South America. Breakfasts were provided in the semi-covered second courtyard. We found them more than satisfactory. Hotel staff were extremely helpful in suggesting other dining options within a short walk from the hotel.

Room Tip: The rooms in the colonial part of the building may be grander.
