Visited Llicllas last night for drinks and had a good time. It sits on a terrace overlooking the main plaza in Arequipa. This is its only redeeming feature.
Returned today for lunch. On reading the menu it quickly became evident that it is overpriced, because its on the plaza. We ordered food anyway.
My club sandwich was described as containing steak. The meat was very chewy and I removed it to eat two of my sandwiches. Someone else ordered chicken soup. This came with a leg of chicken, which was described by the eater a "old broiler". The fluid was eaten and the rest left.
Despite there being several "Visa" and"Master Cards" stickers in the restaurant when we went to pay the owner / manager was very reluctant to accept a credit card, citing that he had to pay 5% extra to the bank. Eventually we paid in cash.
Within five hours two of us had "dodgy" tummies!
Staff are friendly and the location has has great view of the plaza.
