What a fun experience! Our group of 4 friends had a fabulous time learning about delicious chocolate from our enthusiastic teacher, Javier. Javier is so passionate about sharing his knowledge and love for high quality chocolate with others. The course explains the process of making chocolate from harvesting, roasting, grinding, melting, and finally preparing the delicious treats. We had the opportunity to create a tray of our own personal chocolates with nuts, spices, and spices to take home!
Great fun. Thanks, Javier!

The guy told us a lot about coca beans and how to make chocolate. We made our own chocolats from beans to the real chocolat thingie. It was a lot of fun. Although I would have liked it if there would be at least a drink included in the workshop.

We only spent a few days in Arequipa but a friend recommended we do a chocolate making workshop and it was definitely money well spent. Javier was an amazing teacher and all the staff were so knowledgeable. To say it's only being running for a few months, it was amazing and so well set up!! Me and my partner came away having learnt so much and gained ancient recipes, he is not a lover of dark chocolate but after this class he is now a converted and appreciates real chocolate and not the commercial stuff with no real chocolate flavor! You get to keep the chocolate you make and it tastes yum!! This is a must do for serious chocolate lovers!! Also definitely recommend trying the beer cupcakes!!

Firstly I want to say the course was great - really fun and informative and the two people running it when we were there were very friendly. However there are a couple of things that I think would just make it a bit better:
When we were first handed non roasted cocoa beans my friend and I's natural reaction was to try some - it was only about 2 minutes later that we were told that they have loads of diseases befo they're roasted.
We also got to make our own chocolates - again, this was great, but we were told to fill the trays halfway with ingredients before adding the chocolate. DONT TRY EATING HALF A TRAY OF CHILI POWDER!!! It would've been good to know just how spicy chilli powder is before we started many our own chocooates with it.
Anyway it was a lot of fun and I really recommend it.
