We have just finished a two week stay at La Gruta. We thoroughly enjoyed this hotel since the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean and the shower is very good. We stayed in a suite and found the rate to be very reasonable, since it included transportation to and from the airport and also a very ample continental breakfast consisting of fruit salad, toast, bread rolls, butter, jam, tea, coffee, juice, yogurt, cheese, ham, hard-boiled eggs and fresh fruit. Coffee or tea were available during the day. The hotel is located in Selva Alegre, which is about 20 minutes or more from the downtown. If you don't mind the walk or a short taxi ride, this is a great location because the neighborhood is very quiet and beautiful and away from traffic. We found it safe to walk both during the day and at night, because there is security at the hotel and there are always people around. There is a beautiful yard in the back, where you can relax. The hotel provides computers and has WIFI.
