In order to visit the Cathedral and museum we had to have a private tour where you give a donation to your tour guide after based on how you viewed it, about 10 soles. It was also 10 soles pp to enter, Our guide spoke very good English and gave us a well informed tour of the Cathedral explaining about the organ which is the largest in South America and other aspects of the church and its history. We were then taken upstairs to view beautiful relics and clothes before being taken outside to the bell towers where one could take a great shot of the Plaza de Armas and view the mountains and city. It was very enjoyable and informative.

The cathedral administration makes you take a tour guide and we were assign a great, educated and fun lady for our guide. We went to the upper levels and behind the large organ... it is a must see.

This is unique cathedral (one of only approx. 100 cathedrals that can fly the Vatican flag, has been rebuilt multiple times, spans the entire north side of the main square, etc. ). It has a special ambiance in the evening. There are some interesting wall coverings, statues to check out and it's free.

Took a tour (in English) of this cathedral. Our guide told is the beautiful organ was the largest in South America. While we were there, a group of probably twenty women were singing to Mother Mary's statue. It was truly an experience!
