Yummy food, so good in fact we ate here both days we were in Arequipa. Club sandwich was delicious and the cakes look gorgeous too.

We loved Capriccios! we sampled the food in several branches, both local to us in Cayma and in the historic centre of Arequipa on different occasions.
The menu is varied with options to pop in for just coffee & cake; or a lunch (they do sandwiches both hot & cold for example) & cake; or indeed for dinner (pasta or steak for example) & cake.
Did I mention the cake? The deserts are amazing here, by far and away the best on our travels around South America. They are always fresh, moist & very tasty and there's several menu pages worth of choices. A nice touch is that you can order a small slice or a large slice depending on appetite and budget, but sharing a large slice is a pretty economical option too.

As well as wine, beer and soft drinks Capriccios also offer fresh individual or mixed pure fruit juices including Arequipena papaya. Juices are served in attractive and generous individual carafes that become the envy of the 'first timer' tables around you.
They often serve a complimentary shot of warm apple juice on arrival too, which is a lovely welcoming touch.
Our favourite lunch dishes were the generously filled club sandwich, and the lomo fino (lean steak) sandwich. The chicken avocado and artichoke sandwich was good, but would have been improved if served on brown bread.
The coffee is average, but that's not bad as really good coffee is hard to find! Also you may have to request coffee with (or before) your lunch as opposed to it being served afterwards!
Main meal options are good, a friend said the lasagna was the best outside of his own kitchen!
For deserts treat yourself to the delicious carrot cake or the divine pecan pie with 3 scoops of ice cream (ask for chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla if you prefer)

The Decor is charming and very clean throughout (bathrooms included)

Service is polite and smiley, but you'll need a little Spanish to read the menu and order (or just point at the enticing pictures on the menu). Also be prepared for service to be a little slow, but take away is a good option if you need to order and run.

I want to take Capriccio's home to Blighty with me!

We went there twice during a 4 day trip and they didn´t dissapoint us in any of those visits.....the servings are huge! and the quality of their food is top notch......try the "sopa de lúcuma".....it has chocolate on it and comes with three deliciously crunchy balls full of liquid chocolate....it was the best dessert ever!

There are 12 of these in Arequipa,, and they seem to pop up all over the place. The standard was very consistant. We love to experiment, but we kept ending up back here in the evenings for coffee, and their fabulous desserts. Best chocolate cake ever, really!. The cherimoya cake was also out of this world. They're mostly very cosy places good fast service. Its a bakery cafeteria type setting, but the menu extends to meals which although we didn't try, all looked very tempting. Good food , good value.
