Owner description: Considered a masterpiece of colonial architecture, this monastery is a large complex of rooms, picturesque plazas, ornate fountains and a maze of narrow, cobblestone streets.

It has a sense of history and you can feel how they lived.
You can feel the nuns in the cloisters in the cells. There are vens every where you can sense the community spirit of the nuns.
I liked the floral displays, the court yards, no real dislikes but in one of the restaurants the staff were having their lunch abd could not be bothered to derve us a drink.

Gorgeous buildings, alleyways, cobbled streets, and history. Take your time to wander through this lovely "village"- take heaps of photos as it's very picuresque.

If you are into these cultural places, this is a nice option. It is like going back in time and see how these nones lived. It is a little bit pricey though, so take your student card if you want a nice discount ;)

This monastery is huge, really a city within the city. Its a peaceful place, were you can just stroll around enjoying the brightly coloured courtyards and picturesque architecture. There is a lot of religious art which I'm not that fond of, but the building itself it totally worth the visit. Try to go early in the morning or in the late afternoon when the shadows are more dramatic. Don't get a guided tour, but just walk around at your own pace. Our guidebook provided enough information on the monastery to enjoy the visit without somebody rushing you. There is a lookout point were you can get a good overview of how large the monastery is and it has a nice view over Arequipa with the mountains in the distance. The inside coffee shop is in a quiet court yard and makes for a nice break.

Spent about 3 hours in this place taking great photos. It kind of like a maze in there that never seems to end. The entry was a bit steep (35 soles) but I have never seen anything quite like it and I have been to a fair share of monastaries. Definitely must see in Arequipa.
