If you're in Arequipa, you need to visit the center twice; once during the day, and then again at night. It is simply beautiful at both times of the day, although it will appear very different.

Arequipa is a beautiful city. The buildings around the Plaza are in very good shape and also beautiful. The plaza is a busy place, there is music, and many other activities to enjoy. There are plenty of restaurants around the place. At night the Plaza looks very pretty and it is also safe.

Great starting place to see number of interesting churches, cathedrals and nunneries. All interesting staff is couple blocs on walking distance. Tourist trap for restaurants, so walk away, and find some great places to eat on side the streets. Even famous Pisco sour is a diluted rip of at the square.

After travelling 2000+ kilometers through Peru and to arrive at Arequipa was magical.
The old centre is probably the best in Peru. Been to Cusco, Lima, Puno(Lake Titikaka) and Barranco(Lima). The white sillar blocks are beautiful. Reminds me so much of Merida, Mexico. The white cities.
