This as the best part of my trip to Peru. I took the Land Adventures three-day tour of Colca Canyon. I was lucky enough to have Pepe as my guide and he was by far the best we could have hoped for. He called around his friends to find my friend a phone battery when she lost hers, he loaned me money when my shoes broke without making me feel like it was an issue and then he protected me and my friend during an earthquake! He's also a great cook. The best part though is he really knows a lot about the area and genuinely cares about the local people, even teaching part-time at the village school. What a great trip. Really well-priced too. I also recoomend taking a mule ride up the canyon on your way out. So fun.

My boyfriend and I did the 3 day trek with Land Adventures. Our guide Nestor was excellent and his knowledge of the canyon and everything related kept us constantly fascinated. The trek itself was quite leisurely on the way down, but on the second day, coming back up in one 3 hour stint was quite tough. However I am proud to say we did not take the option of going by mule (!) and managed to make it up on two feet. It was very rewarding. I would recommend using Land Adventures for the colca canyon trek to see the real Peru and its people. We will hold the memory of those 3 days for a lifetime, it truly was magical, and having Nestor as our guide certainly enticed the whole experience.

We were a group of 4 and we had Jose as our guide. He was the best and our trip was amazing. We did the 3 day Colca Canyon tour. The best part of the trip was that we really didn't see any other groups. The way they had it structured was perfect. We had heard that some groups had to get up at 3:00 am with the two day groups because they were sharing transportation, they were at the overnight stop by lunch. Jose maximized all of our time and we had such great days! Would use Land adventures any time!

Easy and straightforward to organise, very good value for money. We booked a 3 day, 2 night trek through colca canon. Our guide, Marcelo, was fun to be with, clearly enjoys his job and was very knowledgeable about the various communities we visited, local customs and politics, history, the geology, flora & fauna of the area and the various medicinal and culinary uses of many plants found in the canon. The steep hike up from 2,500m to around 3,400m was a tough 3 hours in the afternoon heat, but was a better idea than doing it in the morning as we could follow it with a hot shower (the hostal we stayed in had great showers) a meal and a good nights sleep, before the drive back to Arequipa. Plenty of time allowed to stop at various places along the way. Excellent all round, would recommend to anyone.

We looked for a suitable company for our Peru experience and finally decided to use Land Adventure because of its good reviews on tripadvisor and its sustainable turism approach.

When we landed in Lima we’ve been picked up by Paola, a very nice, friendly and energetic woman. She drove us to our hotel where we had a nice and necessary night sleep. Early in the afternoon we did our Lima city tour. Even if it wasn’t my favorite part of the trip it was interesting to get to know the capital city. Our guide was very helpfull and ready to answer all our questions. On the next days we got to discover Paracas, the ballestas islands, Huacachina , Nazca and Puerto Inca. We loved the landscape of the coast and everything was really well organized. We also had an hotel with swimmingpool in Huacachina which was really nice with the high temperatures. We also tried the traditional ceviche looking onto the pacific ocean: an unforgettable experience!

After the coast, we went to the Andes. The first stop was Arequipa, a very nice colonial city with its volcanoes. It was quite impressive and the city tour was nice and the guide again very helpful. On the next day we went for a trekking in the colca canyon. Our guide Pepe told us everything about the people and the nature. We learned a lot and slept with families which was a once-in-a-lifetine experience. We can only recommend it. We were lucky and coul spot like 9 condors at the condor cross, have quite wondefull photos!!! After our three days trekking we went to Puno and the Titicaca lake. We visited the islands of Uros and Taquile where we spoke with the people living on the island. We could’nt sleep there but if you have the time we would recommend to spend a night with a family in Taquile, we’ve been told that it is an amazing experience. After Puno we headed to the most impressive part of the whole tour: Cusco and the Machu Picchu. After seeing the sacred valley we did the Inca Trail to arrive to Machu Picchu. It was fabulous and the guide was again very friendly and knew a lot about the inca history.

We were very happy with our tour with land adventure. Everything was very well organized when we were there and before the trip they always answered our e-mails very quickly. We can only recommend the tour we did!
