“Comida tipica no mariscos”
Reviewed June 20, 2012

I think service was fine. The place is huge and nice (if you want to talk don´t go on weekends, there is loud live music). Great if you go with kids, its child friendly.

Tipical dishes look ok. We order schrimps (chicharon and picante) It was a dissapointment. Too expensive for the quality. I would say for 43 Soles you can get better deals at other restaurants. I think maybe scrhimps are not Montonero´s specialiy.

“HUGE portions...”
Reviewed April 15, 2012

The food is great in a large mostly outdoor garden setting. The food portions are gigantic so order to share. If I'm alone, an appetizer is about all I can manage. Delicious food and good service too. Its mostly locals, so you know it's good and a good value too!

“Two locations...with Carlitos Grille”
Reviewed January 5, 2012

Two restaurants in one: Montonero is for typical food, and Carlito's is the Argentine grill. The original restaurant has a prettier setting and is indoor/outdoor, but the modern restaurant in Adventura Plaza Mall seems to serve more consistent quality of food. The original restaurant has a play area for the youngsters.

“Disappointing”
Reviewed July 8, 2010

After going there for a disappointing dinner, we were told that the food is better at lunch. Our evening meal was rather disappointing. Particulary the chicharon de chancho which was barely warm and very fatty.

Maybe it is better for lunch, but for the money you'll do much better having lunch at La Capitana - a picantaria behind Saga Fala Bella. The prices were better, it is filled with locals, and the food was very good.

“Just a short 4 block or so walk from...”
Reviewed May 29, 2010

Just a short 4 block or so walk from Plaza Armas, across the Puente Bolognesi (Chili River), this restaurant had it all - excellent atmosphere, diverse menu (typical Pervian menu as well as Argentinean menu). Cost for 2 meals with drinks and without dessert (I was too full) about $20us. Was recommended by our wonderful hotel Los Tambos.
