This experience was absolutely amazing. We enjoy the islands very much with our sailing boat with 3 biologist on board, that was super interesting.
We adore this peaceful piece of nature.

We booked this trip through Adventure Life for 1 week on the Archipell I Catamaran. This experience was absolutely amazing.
Our naturalist, Giovanni, was very knowledgeable, funny, and personable, and spoke excellent English. Every crew member on the ship was very friendly and helpful, particularly the Captain, Jose, the bartender, Alex, and the deck hand, Paul. It really seemed like the crew worked well together, constantly keeping things clean, organized, and updated. The ship was incredibly clean and very modern. The food was surprisingly good with lots of vegetable options.
A typical day involved 3 adventures/activities a day including nature preserves, breeding centers, hikes, and snorkeling. Everything was well organized and well-timed. I enjoyed the free time we received to explore small towns, beaches, or hang out on the roof of the boat to relax.
Overall this trip went above and beyond my expectations. This is certainly the most unique and memorable vacation experience I have had to date, and I would highly highly recommend the Galapagos Islands as a vacation destination and the Archipell I Catamaran crew to guide you through this experience.

Ever wonder what it's like to have a sea lion frolic in clear warm water so close to you, you saw your reflection in their eyes? Or how about walking a desert island patrolled by iguana's that swim and spray salt water? These wonders of daily life in the Galapagos Islands play out in front of a very lucky few in this remote and unspoiled paradise. It's not a paradise of man made excess, rather a paradise of flora and fauna so unique and specialized, and isolated, that the animals seem tame. They are as oblivious to humans as we are to most things. A trip to the Galapagos Islands will renew your soul and recharge your mind. You'll never view a tortoise with the same oblivion. If snorkeling is your passion, this is the place. Hundreds of tropic fish; Parrotfish, azure Angelfish, schools of Bass, coral covered rocks, Scorpionfish, Hagfish, Sally Lightfoot crabs of intense orange and red, chocolate chip Starfish to numerous to count, Rays, Tuna, Eels, and the most majestic of all, the Giant SeaTurtle. Bring an underwater camera for sure and if you can afford it, a Go Pro video camera. It's just too amazing to describe here, so don't scrimp on camera gear, extra batteries, extra memory, chargers, etc. Don't forget: lip balm, eye drops, sun screen, a light shirt or wind breaker, sunglasses and Croakies, hats, scarves, long pants, good walking shoes and plenty of stamina. Bring a rash guard and your own snorkel mask if you have one. The Celebrity boat has wet suits, snorkel gear and floats if you're a novice. The Naturalists are all Galapagos Island natives and they really know their stuff. Many have multiple degrees of education and all are generous and caring. Ask anything and expect the unexpected. The feeling of exclusivity is apparent as only small groups of tours are allowed to land and explore these islands lost in time; the archipelago is a link to our past and a reminder to the present - preserve the wilds for human connection - and go home with life long memories and a renewed respect for mother earth.

How can one put into words how amazing this place is? You can't really. You can read all the reviews and really not quite get how great it is. So instead of reviewing what other folks have described so eloquently I'll offer up some suggestions.
1. Sunscreen and hats are a must. The sun/water mixture is powerful. Suggest applying sunscreen before excursions. There are two a day with several different options; snorkling, hiking or just laying on the beach. All options are good. **Snorking is amazing at any stop.
2. Cameras are a must. If shooting the animals use a high speed. While the seals/sea lions are pretty much just laying around, you want to capture any head movement. If you've got a small digital pocket camera, use the sports mode. That should work. I took an 8GB card for every day and switched out. That way if a card fails, you only lose one days worth of photos. I also used my ipad to download my photos to. Folks will gather in the lounge and share photos. Pretty fun to share instantly plus have that added security of a back up.
3. Bring a small bag to cover your camera during zodiac rides. The water can be choppy and spray, so just to be safe I had a small plastic bag that I could use to cover my camera.
4. Bring shorts and tee shirts for island hopping. You'll have wet and dry landings, so casual is best. You'll be hitting various beaches and getting sand everywhere. No need to ruin any nice clothes.
5. Snorkle gear is provided. They had goggles and wet suits for all. The wet suits ranged from extra small all the way up to 5x, so there's a size for everyone.
6. Beach socks, highly recommend for the days you have a wet landing or choose the snorkling option. They are just so easy to slip on and off and are great for getting wet. Just make sure the choose a pair that have a grip on the bottom. They'll help with walking on rocks.
7. No need to bring shampoo and conditioner or body wash. All if provided in your rooms. You'll want the extra room in your suitcase for shopping.
8. Luggage weight, no one, not one person on the cruise had their luggage weighed or measured. Not on the plane or the ship. We were told not to worry about it as there has never been an issue.
9. $$..There are a few islands that have some places to shop. Take US dollars and make sure to have small bills. Ecuador uses the American dollar as currency. Most of the shops are independantly owned so small bills are helpful. There we a few that took credit card but not too many do.
10. When getting on the zodia/panga try to be the first or the last. When you cruising the coast looking for animals it's much easier to move around and get a better view in the front or back. NOTE: getting in the back by the driver tends to be more wet.
11. Snorkeling, get your gear on before you get into the zodiac/panga. It is so much easier to dress on the boat then on the beach trying not to get sand on your camera/clothes etc. AND bring an under water camera to capture all the amazing fish/sharks/rays/seals/sea lions etc. Also, if you are a first time snorkler, don't worry. There are always people around as well as the zodiacs are keeping an eye on everyone. There are also safety vests that help keep you afloat. The snorkeling is easy in the Galapagos.
12. Excursion descriptions. Every day in your room you'll get a description of the next days activities. We kept this and high lighted which excursion we did so we could have that to review when we got back home.
13. Attend the nightly excursion talk with the naturalist. Those are great in helping you decide which excursion to take.
14. Last but not least!! Have fun....
