I am a travel agent and have stayed in many hotels all over the world. The Mansion Alcazar stands out as one of my all-time favorites. First, every detail is beautiful--from the hushed courtyard lobby with its bubbling stone fountain and fresh roses, to the elegant restaurant, to the charming garden out back.
My room, Mint, while not large, was ample for a solo traveler. The room was attractively appointed, with fresh light paint in contrast to the dark wood of the furnishings. Like the rest of the hotel, the room was very well maintained. The room looked out onto the courtyard, but was very quiet. Yes, you could hear the music playing softly, but that ended by about 10PM. The bed was comfortable and the hot-water bottle tucked into the bedding at night was a welcome surprise touch.
Finally, the staff made me feel so welcome, that I felt as if I were in my own mansion home. . When I came back from a long day of sightseeing, they asked how I'd enjoyed myself and they offered me tea or coffee. Everyone was charming and solicitous. Overall, a memorable experience!More
