Large area of Inca ruins, mostly just foundations remaining. Very nice garden area and aviary with some beautiful birds on display. Many llamas taking care of keeping the grass trimmed

A thorough display of the land and people who have lived and made Ecuador the country it is today. Unfortunately, many of the screens are only written in Spanish with no other language screens or guides available. The excavated area in the rear of the museum down towards the river is interesting; the llamas roaming along the grounds makes for some wonderful up close pictures.

The museum was not so interesting.
But the outside, and the garden were amazing! it is good to have a nice relaxed day and finish it with an amazing belgian waffle

We took a taxi to the museum, and found it closed, even though the sign liting it's hours saaid it should be open. We were able to walk around the back to the archeological site, but there isn't much to see. Too bad, the museum sounds interesting

Okay, this is not Machu Picchu however the remains which are thought to be part of an old Incan city are very interesting. You get a good idea of the Incan style of building throughout the stone terracing and the old walls. In addition, the views are fantastic and there is a very nice path at the base of the ruins along the river. All in all, a very pleasant afternoon. Try to choose a day with no rain though as there is very little shelter.
