This is a great restaurant in the historic district. it is set in an inner courtyard with only about ten tables. The chef, Cesar is wonderful, studied in Europe and willing to answer any questions and chat a bit when he's not too busy. We allowed him to suggest things for us and were not disappointed. He even insisted on giving us a flax cake dessert which was heavenly. He is clearly a person who loves his work and has a passion for eating healthy. Dinner time was not crowded and you could linger as long as you wanted.

Both excellent and inexpensive! The ambiance here is open, pleasant, friendly. The menu selections all look delicious.

Some of the tables are made from cross-sections of huge trees, painted with polyurethane. There is a very open feel about the place, since it is an inner courtyard that has been covered to provide shelter from the rain. The food is well-presented, colorful, vegetarian, and tasty, and the staff are very attentive. The only unpleasant thing about my meal was that the appetizer I ordered did not come until AFTER my dessert was served (and at that point, why bother?) I would highly recommend La Quinua, but personally, I simply will not order an appetizer next time. . . . No big deal. If you enjoy vegetarian food, try this place. Fantastic almuerzo for a great price!

Stopped in for lunch the other day, very impressed. It is very open and bright, about 10 tables in total, We each ordered the meal of the day, ie, Almuerzo, which was excellent, soup, juice rice, vegies, desert, etc. That said they have an extensive menu with various salads, pasta, English Breakfast (go figure) and other dishes for those not wanting the meal of the day for lunch. This place will give Nectar, right down the street, a bit of competition and frankly I like it a tad better, but that is not a hit on Nectar (we like Nectar too). Total for 2 for lunch, with tip, $6. Both the owner and the menu are bilingual, helpful for us. The other good news is they serve both lunch and dinner and are open until about 9 PM.
