This place promises an amazing, authentic Argentinian experience. While it delivers on some level, I don't think that half an olive sliced on a personal pizza counts as "olives" or invisible chilies counts as spicy. My pizza was not spicy at all.

Even worse, if you are the kind of person who gets turned off by cockroaches, then avoid at all costs, as you might see a couple. We killed two small ones. Yuck.

Won't be going back and I suggest you try other options, even if it is a Monday and nothing else is open.

If you can find this place it can be worth the climb up or down the Esclinata at Calle Large y Hermano Miguel. Outdoor seating, billiards, fuzzball and many nooks and crannys for private discussions. A destination for a good meal at decent prices. Ingles spoken.

There are plenty of pizzia places in Cuenca but most we tried were not too good. La Recoleta was a surprise, everything was freshly prepared and made exactly to out order (extra crispy). The Owner and chef is from Argentina and is doing a good job in establishing his restaurant. The place is a bit out of the way, off of Calle Larga but is easy to find. They have beer and wine and the staff as friendly.

We got this one night as a take out when we were just to tired to do a sit down dinner, good food for a fair price.

I thought maybe this restaurant wasn't there any more, as I had passed by several times and there was no sign of it during the day.

But in the evening, when it opened, they had their signs hung outside.

Cozy little place. Big enough last night, as there was nobody else in there, which was surprising.

The pizzas are as good as everyone else is saying. Lots of interesting choices and the prices are right for the pizzas and the beer.

Staff was friendly and efficient. As to the review below that says they speak only English - I guess that was a typo. AFAIK they speak Spanish, and I didn't test their English, so I don't know whether they speak it or not.
