We have been to this Colombian restaurant for lunch a few times now. It costs $2.50 for the set menu which comprises a soup served with a banana on the side, followed by a main (often there is a choice of main) which is accompanied with the usual rice, beans and salad. You also gret a great fresh juice. While the price is a little higher than some places the food is considerably better than average and the portions are generous.
The best thing about the place is the super-friendly Colombian service! From the first time we went the proprietor greeted us warmly and made a fuss over our little boy too. By the second time we went he hugged us goodbye and wished us a happy 2012. He continues to make us very welcome every time we visit. The character of the place is enhanced by the bell which hangs by the door which happy customers are invited to ring if they like the food and the service, which means the meal is punctuated by regular jangles.
The place is very family friendly. Apart from being very tolerant of children of all ages they actually provide various blocks, puzzles and games for children to play with while grown ups consume their meals - and there are no funny looks or awkwardness if the kids play on the floor by the table.
