Nice ambiance. Very good service. Just a little pricey but there are tables overlooking the scenic river. All the personnel are very nice.

“Excellent food, service, price and atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 18, 2012

Knowing nothing of the place, we saw the sign and checked out the menu, which seemed an interesting mix of típico and creative fusion; prices moderate. The staff were more than welcoming so we decided to stay. We were led down the stone steps into a gorgeous beamed ceiling room with exposed brick walls and windows overlooking the Rio Tomebamba. Had we not already seen the prices we would have thought we could not afgord to est in such a stunning and elegant place. Everything we had was delectable: try the Oriente-style yuca with condiments and the superb grilled trout from the Cajas region just west of the city. Even the pasta bolognese was awesome. The owner is a polite and personable gentleman who seeks out feedback and suggestions; not every client will want to engage this way but we felt like honored guests and enjoyed conversing with him (it helps if you speak Spanish). Sorry for the reviewer who got a bad dish but it seems unfair to complain about being offered eggs for lunch in a place where that is perfectly normal. This is a new place whose owner is committed to working out the links. It offers an amazing and affordable dining experience. We loved it.

“By far the BEST ambiance we've come across yet.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 22, 2012

This restaurant is set under a church in an old part of a monastery. The setting is absolutely to die for.
The food is very good, especially if you consider that they've only been open for a short time. The service was good, we had to wait quite a while for our bill but - who's perfect !?!

From the seven of us, I have a feeling that the TROUT was probably the #1 choice. I personally had the fish with the Coconut sauce. The fish was excellent, the trimmings supurb. Others had the Lamb. The food ordering and arrival was fast. The prices are within the realm of realistic.
All-in-All, an EXCELLENT choice for a group. If you're just a couple, how much more romantic can it possibly get ? If/when they get their terrace build, overlooking the river ~ then it will be the # 1 choice location - bar NONE !

“What a difference a day makes or 3 days in this case.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 21, 2012

Our group of 7 ate dinner at Todos Los Santos last night. It was very very good. So I'm guessing these folks are getting a handle on things. As the previous reviewer said the restaurant's decor and atmosphere is about as good as it gets in Cuenca and could it hold it's own anywhere in the world. All our meals were between very good to excellent. Service was certainly acceptable to good but no doubt they are learning. The owner was at the restaurant doing the seating and very very concerned as to our satisfaction and opinion on how they were doing. This is a diamond still partly in the rough. Give it a try, I don't think you will regret it. In the end this will be one of the premier restaurants in Cuenca.

“Wish We Could Recommend It, But We Can't”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 17, 2012

First the good news: The restaurant is located in a newly and wonderfully renovated old church overlooking the Tomabamba River; the room is all brick and timber and room and appointments are just the most chic in Cuenca except possibly for the Mansion Alcazar. The second bit of good news is that the menu is interesting and eclectic with both standard and Ecuadorian recipes. The bad news is that the guys who are in charge don't know about how to run a restaurant - something here is always wrong or out of kilter. Last time we ordered a shrimp salad in which the shrimp were bad, foul, smelly. We set aside this noxious concoction, which was taken away by our waiter. Instead of, for example, replacing this with another dish, or offering a glass of wine, or perhaps a dessert as compensation, they did nothing - instead, the offending dish was on our check - though they didn't raise a fuss, I can only shrug at both the poor food and inept service. On another occasion, the food wasn't hot enough and the offering included both white rice (how boring) and french fries - now there's a nice helping of carbohydrates! I wandered in early on a Wednesday afternoon to try lunch, and what was offered apologetically was"brunch" - eggs at 1:00 in the PM? - didn't know that was an Ecuadorian custom. The folks here are friendly enough but they don't have a clue - someone with real life experience in the restaurant business needs to take charge of this place and whip it into shape. Until that happens, patrons are subject to a hit-and-miss experience at this lovely setting.
