Visited this restaurant with friends. The food was nicely prepared, good flavored and reasonable prices. Service was somewhat slow but they were very friendly. We ordered the parrillada and was satisfied. I definitely will recommend. La Esquina.

Even though La Esquina had been recommended by two sets of friends, my husband and I had never been there. We decided to have a nice lunch out before leaving on a month-long visit to the U.S. Our entree choice was the beef tenderloin in a mushroom-Cabernet reduction. The main dish was accompanied by artisan fried potatoes (so good!), salad and rice. The beef was tender and tasty. My mouth waters just thinking about the rich mushroom and wine sauce. The sides were perfect and the portions large. If we weren't going to be gone for a month we could have easily eaten less and taken the leftovers home for another meal. I can say, without hesitation, this was the best meal and the most professional, attentive service I have had in Cuenca.

Nice atmosphere. Had the beef with mushrooms and Cabernet. Huge serving. Sauce was outstanding, lots and lots of great mushrooms. Unfortunately the beef was tough and overcooked, probably due to the cooking & serving in a cast iron pan. The seafood other diners had looked tender. No room for desert.

This place was incredible!! They served discs for at least two, maybe three people, of beef, chicken, langostino. We had tenderloin beef with a Cabernet reduction and wild mushrooms. A fantastic treat with an accompanying salad and desert of carmel, chocolate and meringue, separated by pastry shells. The service was outstanding. /Waiters spoke Spanish and English. The beef was the best I have had in all of Latin and South America. Put this one on your list of Cuenca restaurants that must be visited your next time here.

We really liked the food. We had steaks with fries. Several small salads and sauces were served first and they were made of eggplant, garbanzo beans, cucumbers, and corn. Everything was fresh and delicious.
