This restaurant has a great location right next to the new cathedral with its blue domes attractively lit at night. The food was pretty good without being great. They try hard to do something a bit better than average but my prawns with avocado and “tabouli” were a bit of a miss. Please don’t call something “tabouli” if it doesn’t contain ANY tabouli ingredients. His meal scored the double blond carbs of a big pile of white rice and a big pile of undercooked chips typical of the area. Has potential.

We went initially for a quick drink and to photograph the blue domes of the cathedral but decided to stay for dinner and enjoy the balmy evening and the view. We chose the steak for dinner and it was beautiful, had wine and a coffee after all for $36 US. Very very pleased with our decision to stay as the service was excellent and very friendly. A must for any visit.

I went to El Confesionario with my friend while in a backpacking trip. We needed some good food in a more fancy place - this place was it! Great food and great service. We tried the pasta with truffles (unbelievable!) and had some wine as well. The place is beautiful, sit outside - the views are great. At night, there was some live music as well.

I love this restaurant. The food is excellent and the view of the blue domes of the new cathedral is fantastic at night if you sit outside. The prices are good too.

This place is great! It has an amazing view, relaxed atmosphere and very well prepared food. The owner/GM knows how to run a restaurant. The only downside was our college age male server who made a mistake on an order and we ended up getting the meal for free. The server held it against us when we visited two more times after that. He was rude and slow. It didn't matter though because we had a lovely time but that guy needs to go.
