We were immediatey impressed with Ovi's enthusiasm and ability to lead a varied group. The tour took in the food market, churches, architecture, a dash of history and politics (very interesting), artisan shops and lots more.

Ovi pointed out fun things to do in Quito and was full of good advice like where to avoid and how to get to places or find a cheap meal.

The only tiny downside was that for me, it went on a little too long that day (I think it normally runs to 2.5 - 3 hours though, which would have been enough). I had something else to do after the tour. But all in all, Ovi is an excellent guide and lots of fun. If you want a tour with a variety of interests, try this one for sure :)

Ovi is a great guide who has a lot of information about history, culture, food, and all other things Ecuadoran. He's enthusiastic and funny and happy to answer any question. The market and the history of the Quito School of art were my favorite parts =) Ovi is a traveler also, and quite good at reading his audience.

My girlfriend and I were the only ones on this tour, I think people were put off by the rain, but Ovi led a fantastic and informative tour just for us.

He guided us through lots of local produce and dishes in the Mercado Central, which we had the chance to sample then and there but we returned the next day to have more. We continued ealking to see much of the historical centre and were impressed with the wealth of knowledge and information Ovi gave us.

Suffice to say, this was a great tour not to be missed.

Follow the Dreads indeed!

Our guide was a great character,
like most walking tours we went to all the major landmarks, churces etc..
We learnt a bit of history,

but what we liked that was a little different was the tour started in a local market, where we learnt about the different local food and drinks etc..

we tried a nice juice from the market which was amazing.
and he took us to a nice and cheap place for lunch
$2 US for chicken soup, main (2 choices - chicken or goat stew) both with rice and salad and a juice, and it was tasty, couldnt believe it was so cheap!

at the end of the tour our guide highlighted things on our map that we wanted to go to, and some other recommendations.

Good way to familiarise yourself with Quito.

we recommend doing this tour when you first arrive.

This tour is epic! Great way to learn about the city, get your bearings and learn about places you can go to and foods you can try. The guy who takes the tour is really cool and informative. He knows the city so well and is very passionate about what he does. I was brand new to Quito and after taking the tour I was able to plan everywhere I wanted to go and how to get there. He could even help out with what busses to take and how much things costed outside of Quito. Loved this tour!! If your in Quito you are crazy not to take it !!
