“Very nice place”

We had room 27 and had the marvelous experience of following the Good Friday Procession from our balcony, really great, streets were so crowded that it would have been impossible to take the great pictures I took.

Lovely rooms, nice decor , bathroom somewhat small. Good breakfast and extremely convenient location in the middle of old town, yet very quiet , little traffic.

Staff is superb, friendly and helpful. Very clean hotel..

Room Tip: Number 27 is right next to a lovely parlour we mostly had to ourselves.

We had the pleasure of spending two nights in mid-March 2013 at Casa Relicario in Quito. its location is ideal for exploring the old city. Our room was very comfortable. However, it was somewhat stuffy as we were unable to open the windows and the air conditioner/fan was substandard. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. The Casa is an excellent value.

An ideal location for visiting historic buildings in the old town; a quiet and restful refuge with a staff both polite and eager to assist with cabs, etc. Would not be suitable for people with mobility problems, but highly recommended to those with an interest in the history and culture of Ecuador.

I stayed here with my husband and our 2 kids and my Dad for 3 nights. The location is perfect for visiting the top historical buildings which are churches and cathedrals as well as finding restaurants and souvenirs. The hotel itself feels like a grand home with a parlour, sun room and small courtyard with an original well. The rooms were a decent size, air-conditioned, clean and comfortable. We felt very safe and well looked after by staff who helped confirm our travel reservations, called for early morning cabs and accommodated us with early breakfasts before the cabs arrived. The concierges all spoke perfect English. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Quito interested in the historical district.

This is a great little hotel in the old town. Easy walking to all of the old town attractions. The service is great; the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Staying in the old town is convenient because that's where most of the walkable sites in Quito are. (I got the feeling that most of the better restaurants aren't in the Old Town, but cab rides are very reasonable.)

We recently visited Quito and arrived 2 days earlier than our booking at Hostel La Rabida which was full; they recommended this hotel. The location in the historic area was perfect for accessing the major points of interest and it provided an intimate, warm and elegant feeling as if staying at someone's house. The staff - as mentioned - mainly speaks Spanish but there is a new hire who communicates quite well in english. Although the rooms are smaller, they are well appointed. Many rooms are on the inside and do not offer windows, so if that matters to you, request a room with a window. There is no elevator, so walking up the stairs could be a challenge but the upper level offers a wonderful city view. A delightful breakfast is served by in white glove service in an elegant old world room. We were given excellent recommendations for dinner places which were close by and even escorted back and forth from the restaurants for door to door service.
Tarquino is delightful as a valet, server, and doorman, and will do his utmost to make your stay pleasant.
This was an unexpected and welcoming haven in Quito.

We spent 3 nights at this hotel which was recommended by the owners of the Hacienda La Alegria where we had been staying. As noted in other reviews the hotel was originally a home that has been converted to a hotel. The decor is beautiful with many antiques and wooden carved doors. Prices for the rooms vary based on size and walking to the third or fourth floor can take your breath away. As people have noted the rooms may be small and the showers somewhat narrow, but if you want super luxury stay at the Hotel Plaza Grande just a block away and pay 2 or 3 times as much as you will here. On our return from the Amazon we stayed in room 26 which overlooks the street and at first we thought might be noisy but they have installed windows which block out the sound.

This is a great location because you are within walking distance of most of the sites in the historic old city. There are many good restaurants nearby and we found breakfast at the hotel to be very pleasant and well prepared. The will cook your eggs anyway you like and have a good selection fresh fruit if you just ask. One evening after dinner we happened on a local dance troupe that was performing traditional Andian dances in an open square. The great part we were the only tourists but the locals were very welcoming and made room for us to sit and enjoy the show which cost a $1.

Most of the staff at the hotel have limited English but then I have limited Spanish, somehow we managed to communicate. We went from here to the Napo Wildlife Center and they held much of our luggage for us at no charge until our return. We had to leave at 4 AM to catch our flight home and when we can out of our room the doorman was there waiting to take our lugguage downstairs. When we went out the front door and the cab they had arranged was waiting for us, the doorman loaded our bags and we were off.

Room Tip: Check the room first if worried about size and be sure to stay on floor two if the altitude is getti...
