We stayed here for one night.

Pros: Great view from the balcony. Meeting other hostelers.
Cons: The sheet were very dirty. The hosts (locals) and the travel agency were not really that helpful - we had to go all about town by ourselves to organize a day trip. Not entirely cheap.

the terrace.. arrived at night and THAT view just took our breath.. or was it the altitude? we had a doublebed room without a window.. but the bed was ok though. They should check the bathroom ceiling cause it was totally covered with mold.. breakfast were rather poor, communal dinner nothing special

Those stairs! If you have just arrived into Quito the altitude is a killer and the reception for this hostel is right at the top in the bar. Once you catch your breath though, the terrace is amazing. Fab views of the city and a good place to read up on stuff to do in the area. Family style dinner was ok value for money, no kitchen to cool your own food otherwise but plenty places to eat cheap nearby. I arrived on a Sunday and they are legally not allowed to sell booze then, bit of a bummer. Besides the bar the social spaces are lacking too. My room was small and dark by comfy bunk and massive locker. The adjoining travel agency was great- orientation talk in the morning followed by a free city tour was fab! Laundry on site too so really good services on the whole. I preferred other hostels in the area more but a good base for your first Quito adventures.

My wife stayed three days and two nights at Cotopaxi and we just loved the three dogs! Ma sh, Daisy and Milo were so sweet!

We went for a long walk with Milo and Mash and they stayed near us for hours.

All three dogs rested nicely in front of the fireplace.

They were so well behaved!

Our stay at Cotopaxi was wonderful. The three dogs added value for us.

Marg and Gerry

Room Tip: We loved our room in a set of three rooms. I loved starting a wood fire in the wood burning stove.
