This is a wonderful, modern, comfortable hotel in Centro Historico Quito. Santiago greeted us on our check in date and showed us to a beautiful room on the ground floor. The room is decorated in a clean, contemporary style, the mattress was like a cloud, the pillows and comforter incredibly soft and the shower was hot and had great pressure. Santiago suggested a dinner at Vista Hermosa, a short walk, delicious food and an amazing view of the city. The staff in general are very welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was included in the cafe (which is open any time for fruit, coffee and tea), and included eggs and a vast spread of fresh rolls, croissants, hams, cheese, fruit, and cereals. There are several areas to relax and enjoy the view of Quito. Easy walk to La Ronda, the Basillica, the President's Palace, plaza de teatrico, and San Fransisco. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: We were in #2 and there was a little noise from the street on the first night so if you are a very light sleeper, bring a little white noise machine and you'll be fine.

This just perfect in the middle of the old part of the city and the owner is always there asking about your stay. Beautiful views to the old city. The staff is very friendly and attendant to your needs. If you didn't book a tour in advance they will look out for you. The environment is one of honesty and does not feel like they are after your money like in other countries. I'm very pleased with Ecuador and the hotel, now heading to Galapagos. This is the photographers paradise, bring a good camera and lots of memory cards

Room Tip: No gym or pool and the bathroom in the master suite has no door it is all one room

This is a wonderful place to stay in the middle of Quito Old Town. We arrived late evening, after a long journey from New Zealand and were greeted by the very friendly host, Andres. Our room was perfect and the way the old building has been renovated is amazing. There is a lovely rooftop terrace, another enclosed terrace with a view below that and the modern atrium works really well. Andres recommended we have dinner on the rooftop at a vista Hermosa - a 5 minute walk and thoroughly recommended, with nice wine, great empanadas and wonderful views of the city. We also had a nice breakfast of fruit, croissants, coffee, ham, cheese and fruit juice. If you're coming to Quito, look no further than Casa Gardenia - it is a great spot and we loved our stay.

We spent close to a week in this small, perfectly located hotel in Quito.
Great and helpful staff, clean, comfortable rooms, close to downtown Quito, and a beautiful view on Quito. Small breakfast helped us get ready for a long walks along the crowded streets of Quito.

Casa Gardenia is a superb option when holidaying in Quito. Perfectly located in the middle of the action, you’ll find yourself walking distance (if you can handle the hills) from almost everything that this great city has to offer.
The hotel itself if a small boutique style hotel with very adequate sized rooms and dressed with some great looking furniture, a comfy mattress, brilliant shower and creative blinds that either block or let in the natural light - everything blended just perfectly. On the middle level of the house, there’s also a brilliant sitting area with a gorgeous view of the old town - I’m sure you’ll enjoy having a drink overlooking the view just as much as I did.
Breakfast is great - Lovely cereal with fresh fruit (including some amazing strawberries) and some home cooked pastries and biscuits. I did see them serving eggs and pancakes, but I was more then happy with their grains.
What I loved most about Casa Gardenia is the service and the staff who genuinely were there to help.
Handy tip: The hotel laundry service - they simply use the locals across the road and charge nothing more the if you were to walk over yourself, which I think was $0.60 a pound - A total bargain if you compare to other hotels!
There are plenty of great options around Quito, but if you can find a hotel like this for around $130 a night, then I surely want to know about it!
