Arupo is not really a bed and breakfast but a budget hostel . While the staff is really friendly, they do not speak English and the room is very basic. It's located in the heart of mariscal which I think is a very dingy neighborhood. I stayed for 1 night before heading to galapagos and didn't have a good sleep. Quite noisy at night.

Stayed: February 2014

Very nice hostel. Located in the centre of Quito-Mariscal around 200m from Foch square. Because of that everything is in neighbourhood (bars, discos, restaurants, shop, travel agencies, shop called "Explorer" where you can find good brands for trekking/hikking in case you forget anything at home). During the nights, especially for the weekend, can be quite noisy (note: but not too much to can't fall asleep). The rooms and the bathroom were very clean and well maintaned. Also the staff was very helpful anytime.

Room Tip: Rooms looking on the garden are at nights quieter (especially on weekends).

Stayed three nights in Feb 2013. Would have stayed longer if it wasn't for the late night bar noises and they didn't have any room towards the back of the inn to avoid it as much as possible.

Large kitchen great for cooking your own meals, and Supermaxi is a ten minute walk away. A few mature couples there including us, plus many regulars that looked like working people on business trips.

Isais the inn keeper and his wife make the best sunny-side up eggs I had ever had, and it's two eggs every morning and toasts are DIY and more as you need. Wifi in rooms was unstable, so mostly we worked in the dining room which was cozy and kept clean. It was cute having the inn keeper's little boy watching TV along side us.

We went back to visit a couple of times after, one time bringing a friend who was looking for lodging for visiting friends. This B&B felt a lot like the home away from home.

Room Tip: #4 has a large new bathroom, so does #25 (unsure the room number, but it's an attic room so ceilings are low).

The price to benefit ratio was excelent. Very clean and spacious room. The people at The hotel were very nice. Locación is great very close to plaza fosh yet in a more quiet street were it is easy to fall asleep.

This B&B is located in the midst of Mariscal. The staff are super friendly and very helpful in any way and there is a fantastic laid back atmosphere. Due to the location, it can be a bit noisy from the parties around the area.
