After we went to this restaurant yesterday for lunch,we feel like we have to write the review since this place is new and not easy to find. we hope they will do well!

We found out about this restaurant on Financial Time last weekend. There was a column about Quito and recommendation of hotels/restaurants so we thought we had to try this place since we have found just only a couple of good restaurants here. Anyway,we went there for lunch and we arrived quite early and we were seated right away. We ordered Ceviche for appetizer to share and the entrée we ordered tuna fish and sea bass. The head chef came to talk to us and he was very friendly and we found out that he was the head chef at ZAZU for 5 years and just opened his own restaurant.
The entrée was excellent! We really enjoyed them. Fish was fresh, salad was fresh and everything was so tasty. When we were about to order the dessert, the pastry chef came to introduce himself to us and recommended two desserts from the menu and they were excellent. Of course it was expensive for Quito but it was really worth it! We were so happy about the food. This place will become one of our favorite restaurants in Quito!

We had the chef cook up whatever he liked, so we had 7 small dishes with absolute terrific food. Very nice ambience, and good taste of music (mix of Brasilian and French).

After hearing a lot about this place I finally had the opportunity to go. I went for dinner on a cold and rainy night in Quito. The attention was excellent and the ambience in the back patio was cozy and tasteful. The front rooms seemed a bit sterile but most of the action is happening in that back patio where Spanish colonial meets clean modern. Loved the cocktails (pisco sour with pureed basil and hot pepper martini). One of the chefs welcomed us at the table and the Italian propieter was equally welcoming and concerned about our satisfaction. I had the bife uruguayo (uruguayan steak) and was in heaven from start to finish. It was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The wait staff was a little slow in bringing the bottle of wine to accompany the meal. That was my only complaint. We all left dinner satisfied and impressed with this elegant and creative place. One of the best restaurants in Quito!
