This hostel was a lovely little oasis that you would never have suspected from the street front. Our room faced the street but was very quiet and had lots of natural light. The menu is pretty overpriced, but very convenient. Unfortunately, i would not stay here again as it was impossible to get away from the cigarette smoke. The guests smoked outside in the courtyard (which was fine) but all the staff smoked inside, which for a non-smoker was really uncomfortable, and meant we couldn't get away from it.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the road are sunny and not too noisy until morning traffic starts

We stayed at this hostel twice, and thought it was very reasonable. Staff were helpful and kind to keep our shoes when we left them in our rooms by mistake for the first stay. Their pick-up service was great and pretty cheap. Breakfast was good, also. The problem was not about the hostel, but the guests making noise outside even after 11pm. It'll be better if the hostel has a policy to ask everyone to be quiet at night so that people who need to sleep can sleep. We had to ask people talking loudly downstairs to keep it down, and it was not something we wanted. Always amazed by those who don't really think of others' needs to have a peaceful night...

Based on the reviews I booked this place- and for the money I expected a lot more. The location is good- but so are many other hostels in Quito. We stayed in room 204 initially which was right under a staircase. The noise from other guests walking up and down made it impossible to sleep. We then decided to change room and the staff member was kind enough to let us. The next room was tiny with windows facing the sun so in the morning as soon as the sun rose it was also impossible to sleep with the light blazing through the thin flimsy curtains.

The booking said we would get a safe in the room- not true. Also wifi in the room- not true in either of the rooms we stayed in.

The restaurant was very average and the women who ran it seemed a million miles away every time I placed an order. Our meals never came out together. The breakfast is also highly over-priced. The thing that REALLY bugged me though is that guests had to pay to use the computers in the hostel. Unbelievable! I will not be staying here again.

We booked (through a booking website) to stay here four nights, but one day before we were due to arrive we had an email telling us there was no availability and couldn't stop there. What was frustrating and puzzling was that two separate booking sites said they had 5 rooms available for our dates. Very disappointed and are now facing a last minute search for accommodation.

Stayed here for 2 nights in January. The beds were comfy, and they provided an extra blanket when we asked which was great! The room was super clean; the cleaning staff did a great job cleaning the room and common areas throughout our stay. The restaurant was average, not a big selection but was ok for the couple days we were there. They also have a kitchen area (fridge, stove, kettle) available for guests to cook. Wifi in the restaurant/common area worked well, but no wifi in the room we were in.

The room we had was very small, but we had a private bathroom, with hot water. The room was clean, and so were the common areas. Wifi is available in the lobby area, and at the time we were there, they only had one working computer to use for the internet.
The restaurant was below average.
It was fairly noisy with traffic, but that is to be expected anywhere in Quito.
The website states English speaking staff, but we did not come across anyone who spoke english. Despite that, the staff were fairly friendly, and the beer in the restaurant was cheap.

I stayed here a lot of times during my 6 months in Ecuador. It's cheap, clean with great facilities. The restaurant serves a variety of reasonably priced food and the hotel itself is well located for the historical centre and the Mariscal district.
