Three rose windows and stations of the cross in glass. Interesting statuary and soaring ceilings. Quiet. A Mary sanctuary that is delightful.

The tower tour offers great views: first down the nave inside, and then over the city. The time to the very top of the lantern tower may prove too much for some though (my wife refused to try the ladder). Great carved grotesques of Ecuadorian wildlife on the outside too

Really a must ! This amazing catherdral is very impressesive. One of the largest I’ve ever seen.
Don’t forget to climb the stairs to see Quito from the rooftops and then go below ground to see the tombs.

We enjoyed climbing to the top for an excellent view of Quito and the gift shops midway have excellent items at competitive prices.

Immaculate Cathedral. Give yourself a good hour to enjoy the exterior and interior. There is a charge to tour the interior.

This church is a landmark in Quito and you can actually pay about $3 USD to climb to the top of the church and get a view of the entire city. You also would need to pay for a sepearte $3 USD ticket to go on the inside of the church. Beware if you are scared of heights as you will need to climb narrow ladder stairs in order to reach the top tower.

If you pay to climb to the tower you will have a great view from old town till panecillo hill.
From the streets is difficult to take a good photo once there is a building right in front of it, different from other basilics in the world which has a big square in front.

Do not miss this! Climb over the ceiling of the cathedral to stairs going up to the church tower for the best views of all of Quito. Great photo opportunity. Cost is only $2 for a million dollar view. You can certainly pay to go inside the sanctuary, but there is also a view of the sanctuary from the rear above the sanctuary that you will see for no charge.

The Basilica is very prominent in old Quito. Neo-Gothic building, still not finished; not as interesting as the older Baroque churches.

Similar to Sagrada Familia in Barcelona! This gothic church has great stunning view of the city of Quito. The structure is vast and beautiful you have to climbed to the condor to see a lovely view!
