The climb up the bell tower was amazing and offered great views of the town and the architecture. If you hit the sunlight just right there are splendid light reflections from the stained glass that danced on the walls of the church.

Really beautiful! It costs 1$ to view the church area and 2$ (side entrance) to climb the towers. I personally would only do the towers. You can climb 3 different towers, one of which is fairly exposed and scary looking to climb, but the view and pictures are really great. Takes about 1.5-2h to visit everything.

Didn't really have much time to spend there, as it was nearly 5:00 PM, and it was closing for the day. However, I got a lot of impressive photos. I understand that the construction of this church will never be completely finished. There are several examples of different architecture in the design of this church.

Not only is the Basilica itself beautiful, but the grounds/courtyard that surrounds it are quite interesting as well. We climbed to the top of the basilica, for $1, and it was the most interesting climb to the top of a church I've ever done. We walked across construction boards, above the nave, then onto steep staircases that were more like ladders. Perhaps we should've waited a day longer to get better acclimated to the high elevation because things got a little dizzy - but we had a lot of fun. The views from the top are nothing less than stunning. A great way to see the town!

A huge church with amazing architecture. It's also a landmark and can be recognized from different points around the city. definitely worth a stop.
