Description: The menu at Casa Gangotena’s restaurant celebrates Ecuadorian cuisine Along our gastronomic road the restaurant has matured it’s culinary proposal; arriving to what we currently offer in our restaurant’s menu. We firmly believe in our cuisine’s inheritance and roots; and in the techniques and knowledge that we have acquired during our evolution We are so proud to offer flavors from the Highlands all the way to the Coast, focusing all our efforts into seasonings, infusions and spice mixes all made in our house. We present traditional Ecuadorian cuisine and we present it, in a refined and elegant way. We dress our dining room with white tablecloths to enhance our culture, we make sure every single detail is taken care of so your dining experience is memorable.. Our main goal is to please the palate of our guests. We invite you to experience life and share with passion the experience of ecuadorian hospitality at Casa Gangotena. We express it with flavors, aromas and textures. "

“A great hotel restaurant”
Reviewed July 30, 2013

Had a casual yet fabulous meal of appetizers and salads in the tiny bar. Chef came out to check on us. Wonderful!

“Nice location, good Ecquadorian food”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

Don't come here if you are in a hurry. Service is slow, but the food is good. Some interesting Ecquadorina dishes on the menu.

“Don't do dinner”
Reviewed May 30, 2013

We were looking forward to this restaurant due to the reviews I read on Trip Advisor. Well, it certainly didn't live up to the reviews. Okay, the breakfast buffet was terrific. A great variety of local fruits and juices; pastries and breads to die for; omlettes made to order and great cheese selections. The dinner menu was less than stellar - and having to pay over $16.00 for a basic gin martini is just too much! Please have breakfast here but pass on the dinner. I'm sure there are much better places.

“Excellent food at very affordable prices = great bargain”
Reviewed May 16, 2013

We stayed for a few nights in Quito and went to Casa Gangotena for dinner 2 nights. We ordered and tried pretty much everything on the menu. Good food and very affordable prices. I think it's a great bargain and will definitely go back next back again. Highly recommend.

“Good food, great building, nice location!”
Reviewed May 13, 2013

This is an old building just in front of a very old church (San Francisco, a a large colonial building). The restaurant is inside a hotel with a nice architecture, lobby is large and cozy and the restaurant is also very nice. The waiters were very good although a little bit slow. The food was amazing, we have a couple of typical appetizers that they recommended that were great! Three different stuffed empanadas with 6 different sauces (very tasty, some quite hot with aji, the local chili), I had shrimp in a coconut sauce that was just great and so were the other plates on our table. To sum up: a great experience!
