“Gorgeous Cathedral Inside and Out”
Reviewed May 9, 2013

This Cathedral perched high on a ridge is magnificent from the outside and worth some walking around to get differing views. Inside is also spectacular although getting to some of the higher parts seems a little adventuresome! If you are a church and cathedral buff do not miss this one while in Quito.

“Quito Cathedral”
Reviewed April 15, 2013 via mobile

Beautiful Church on Independence Plaza in old downtown Quito. We were lucky, because we had heard it was difficult to go inside. As many other churches in Quito is a place you can not miss.

“One of the most awesome cathedrals ever”
Reviewed January 25, 2013

The cathedral was definitely a highlight of our trip to quito. The golden interior is breathtaking. I believe it is one of the most beautiful in south america. Be sure to take advantage of the circular mirror near the front of the church to view the ceiling.

“great views”
Reviewed June 14, 2012

Impressive gothic building, sitting on a hill with great views over the city. The detail in the architecture is well worth a visit and it's only a small fee to go inside which is just as impressive. Outside, you get a lovely view of the cathedral if you go down the slope and take a photo upwards from the corner of the square - great perspective.
