The church is wonderful. Beneath the church is a Fair Trades store where you can purchase local goods at a fair price.
Easy to get in free, and wonderful exterior and stunning interior. I visited twice. took photographs and instead of a fee placed money in the donation box.
I felt that the artwork and decoration inside was better that its more famous rival.
Neat church and square. We entered the church for free so that was nice. Still the church really needs to be renovated or preserved because it is the oldest church in Quito. However, there was something like shelf paper made to look like wood on some of the side shelves. Parts were clearly falling apart.
Everyone who visits old town stops in this major site. But as we are not particularly into churches or architecture it was great for a ten minute walk-around and then we were satisfied. And the church is still used; mass was going on when we were there.
