The Mansion de Angel is truly a mansion inside and out. Decorated tastefully in old world charm it would be just as suitable in any European city. The staff are very welcoming and gracious. The owner is often present to chat about the Mansion. A wonderful stay.

Room Tip: All the rooms have their own charm. The rooms away from the front are quieter.

Quite rightly this place includes 'mansion' in its name because you don't feel it's a hotel with only a dozen or so rooms. We had a delightful overnight stay (we're resident in Quito) to celebrate my wife's birthday, for which we were upgraded to an enormous suite with a very comfy four-poster bed and its own veranda looking out on the pretty back garden. Staff are very friendly and attentive. The dining área is cozy and the food very tasty with a good varied menú for dinner and a good and healthy self service breakfast. Well worth the visit!

We stayed in Mansion del Angel both before and after a five day trip into the rainforest. The staff on arrival were very welcoming and upgraded us to a larger room as the hotel did not seem that busy. The hotel has been decorated in an authentic traditional luxurious but understated style. This really works. The bathroom facilities were modern and excellent. The breakfast buffet had a nice range and the cooked breakfast was very good. We left some luggage while we were away on our rainforest trip which the hotel looked after safely for no charge. They also provided a laundry service to us very late in the evening upon on our return in a very short turn around. After several days in a rainforest this was an invaluable service! The location of the hotel is probably about ten minutes walk from the main tourist area. We (a couple aged 40-50years) found it to be absolutely fine to walk into the centre in the evening to go to restaurants. We followed the hotel staff and general advice in South America which is not to walk about with handbag and camera etc on display and did not have any problems. We took taxis back most evenings and the cost was 2-3 dollars. I would recommend this hotel as a place to stay in Quito which will give the traveller a far better feel for where you are than staying in a standard chain hotel.

Room Tip: The room on the left off the lobby is very large. It does mean one can hear some of the activity in...

This is a truly one if a kind mansion transformed into a lovely 10 room hotel . We were lucky enough to have 102 with a love seat and canopied king bed (although a little noisy as by the entry & desk and facing the street--still 5 stars). As you walk in, your senses are visited by a subtle chocolate fragrance in the air---wonderful. The staff is charmingly attentive and very helpful. The decor is an experience alone with old fashioned furniture that has to be new because it is so comfortable! Tea time in the upstairs lounge every day, breakfast is included and takes place in the dining area (dinner available also) to the accompaniment of sometime singing songbirds in an area of the room. You will LOVE it!

The hotel is really beautiful and the rooms are spacious and well decorated. There is a common space on the first floor that feels like a luxury private living room, rather than a hotel hall. Tea and small sandwiches are served there around 5/6pm every day. My boyfriend and I spent a night in this hotel after a couple of very rainy days in Mindo and before our early-morning flight from Quito to the Galapagos... it was exactly what we needed! The staff was really helpful and organised a last-minute laundry service for us, as well as a box-breakfast for our early departure in the morning.

We stayed here twice on our travels around Ecuador the attentive staff made us feel as we where coming home.It is only a 15 minute walk to the historic area or a $4 dollar cab ride in the evening if you want to go out for dinner the Mansion also serves a excellant dinner.
The majority of the rooms are very quiet the rooms facing the front Monday thru Friday can be noisey
There are no Tea or Coffee facilities in the room but trufully it may be available if one asks.
All in all very comfortable memorable stay & once again kudo's to the staff.

Room Tip: We had 103 very quIet and has sitting room

Located just outside the historic City Center, the hotel is wonderful example of how to convert an historic hacienda into a modern boutique hotel. As previously noted, it is about equal distance from the center of the historic center and Mariscal Sucre. It's about one hour from the new airport; take a taxi it's about $26. The spacious rooms include an extremely comfortable bed, an outstanding shower and first class service. Be advised that if arriving in the evening, because of the small number of rooms, dinner is only available if ordered by 6:00 PM to be served between 6:30 PM and 9:00 PM.

Room Tip: Our room was on the first floor off the entrance overlooking the street. We had no noise issues.
