“OZ right..BEST IN SOUTH AMERICA-- $60 a night”
Reviewed May 18, 2010

Friendly, modern, immaculate. So appreciated after trip from Seattle. Right,..the buffet for $13 is high...but so good. Didn't want American exp. but met people from all over world.
On way home from Galapago's stayed at, a boutique "Ecuadorian" hotel full of Americans. Not nearly as pleasant as Raddison.
Right across street from Swissotel. Should have taken elevator to top for drink for great views of Quito. Didn't know about it until too late

ok its just another radisson...nothing special. The location is ok...supposedly in the safer district of quito. was mostly disappointed by lack of enthusiasm and help by staff. If you are here to do some site seeing then do not expect to receive much information from the staff. There are no brochures or advertisements with things to do or see. The best part of the hotel is the free drink and nibbles at 5pm. Im sure there are many more tourist friendly hotels in quito.

The place should be number ONE in Quito - not 20!

Booked it under sufferance as the Sheraton was not available for the 2 nights we wanted on first visit.

Cost was $US120 plus $30 in taxes via their website for a *SUITE*.

Great deal.

I have been a Sheraton/Starwood Gold for 30 years, and Hilton Gold and Hyatt Diamond, and I am used to nice places, and this is as good as anything you’ll get in the USA.

I fly 200,000 miles a year, and stay at a lot of hotels globally, and this for the money is top of the tree.

A great suite all new and modern and large.

Free wifi – that worked fast, and we asked for 2 passwords so we could use 2 computers, and got them with a smile.

From 5pm to 7pm they have free wine, beer and snacks in the lounge.

Staff at EVERY level were superb.

From the moment the cab pulls up with a guy grabbing the bags, to all the desk enquiry staff.

We left a bottle of champagne in Fridge on 1st stay. It was waiting for us when we returned.

I emailed ahead of arrival for 1st stay to ask if they could organise a city tour, and Equator monument tour.

All done at exact afternoon time I wanted and for $US70 a couple .. a bargain.

Returned from Galapagos and booked there again, and goofed the booking for the day later. Sorted with a smile at desk, at the same rate.

Free airport bus that runs from Hotel each hour.

Cabs in Quito as $US7 from the airport. Cabs anywhere in downtown are $US1 or $US2 so the location cannot be beaten.

11 points out of 10. A great find.

The Radisson will not disappoint in terms of the facility. The breakfast is quite expensive for Quito, $13 plus tax but offers a great variety of fresh fruits and breakfast items. You will have to walk a ways to find something else or take a cab. Like in all areas of Marsical, ride a cab after dark. Hotel shuttle can pick up at the airport for $9 pp and the ride to the airport from the hotel is complimentary when we were there.

In an otherwise dusty, confusing, and largely unattractive city the newer Radisson is somewhat of a soothing, welcoming oasis. Plenty of fine, caramel colored marble in the lobby and the room's bathrooms, precise architectural detailing (no dirty grout lines in the bathrooms and chipped furniture edges such as in other Ecuadorian hotels) spoil the overall impression of quality. I arrived very late on a flight from the U.S., they still had my reservation and when in the room, a printed card with my name, pillow chocolate and an excellent small gourmet desert thingy with a sliver of strawberry and marinated fruit in a white porcelain ramekin just made me feel good after the unspeakably uncomfortable flying experience (on Delta. The moronic Delta gate agent in Atlanta event damaged my passport in the reader by brutally jamming it through. I hope I will not have significant issues from now on.) For Ecuador, this is an expensive hotel, shuttle service to/from the airport are provided on a no-cost basis, staff is very friendly. Miami Herald is available, South American version, in English. Breakfast is plentiful but for Ecuador overpriced: $15. Only negative aspect: During my stay the hot water pressure in the shower was insufficient.
