I stayed here as part of a GAP trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos. The hotel is excellent value for money. It´s very clean, the rooms are spacious and comfortable (my single room actually had a double bed) and the staff are helpful and courteous, and many speak English. You can also store luggage securely for long periods of time - useful if you´re going to the Galapagos and don´t want to take everything with you. The hotel is in the touristy part of the new city and there are lots of restaurants, travel agencies and cafes nearby. I´d recommend the travel agency next next to the hotel for any day trips you plan to do.

Some of the reviews here refer to the hotel being noisy, but I didn´t have any problems, despite being on the first floor overlooking the street.

The staff are very friendly, helpful, and most speak decent English to be able to communicate effectively.

The hotel itself is quite clean, comfortable beds, satellite TV, and and fairly well maintained.

If staying there over a weekend, be sure to either wear earplugs or try to get a room on the back side of the hotel--this is because the hotel is located in the Marsicale District where there is much nightlife and lots of music, car alarms sounding and other noise until the wee hrs of the morning.

I would recommend this hotel for the traveller with a moderage budget--average rooms will run about $60-85 per night. NOTE: don't forget about the 22% hotel tax on top of that. Hotel tax is the same throughout Ecuador.

Me and my boyfriend stayed 4 nights in total in this hotel and I think it was great value for what we paid. Big, clean rooms with great views (if you end up on the first floors just ask for another room and they'll give you one if they can). Tv with lots of English speaking channels, safebox, soaps etc. Everything you need and it's in a central location. Ok it is a bit noisy so bring earplugs if you're very sensitive. The breakfast included is also very nice and the free internet access a great bonus. Overall a great middle class hotel!

My wife and I stayed here as part of a GAP Galapagos cruise (an amaing experience) and also booked some additional nights. The rate for our stay was $63USD plus taxes. The rooms are spacious - we had 2 queen beds so could spread our stuff over the second bed. We had a nice view on the 5th floor looking towards one of the snow capped volcanoes. Before our cruise there was a festival so the night in Quito was very noisy - erywhere - but the nights after the cruise were really quiet. Two computers with internet access on ground floor - internet cafe across the road with cheap international phone calls as well. - e breakfast was fine with a little hot food and also ham and cheese and croissants and fresh fruit and nice juice. We seemed to have the same girl at the front counter who was always nice and helpful. We ate a nice indian meal around the corner for $10 including a huge beer and a glass of average wine and also a mexican meal at the place next to Red Hot Chilli Peppers in Foch St (which was our first choice but closed on a sunday night) which was nice food with huge servings. Taxis are cheap and we walked to and from the restaurant at night without any problems

I enjoyed a stay of eleven nights at this hotel in November. I arrived
at 11.30 pm after a 20 hour journey and found the front counter helpful and professional, making sure I was settled in quickly with minimal formality. My room was on floor eight and was quite large and
very comfortable. The fittings and condition of the room were of a good standard and the hotel house keeping was also very efficient and included supplies of bottled water.

The Hotel is in the middle of the main tourist area of the city and there are many dining and evening entertainment options within walking
distance, The Hotel building also houses a tour agency and there are others nearby. I had several good meals in the 24 hour restaurant and breakfast was fine.

In your room you can hear all the sounds associated with city centres
however not excessively in my opinion, no different from say London or
Paris, this is part of staying in the centre of large cities and I found it easy to sleep well. The security seemed very good and I always felt safe in the hotel.

In the daytime and early evening it was easy to walk to and from the public transport options such as the electric trolley buses (“Trole”) which operate between the new town and historic centre and the taxis which park outside are ideal after dark, taxis are also easy to flag down anywhere in the city.
