“Excellent hotel with very friendly and hospitable staff”
Reviewed March 22, 2013

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. The hotel is in a very nice neighborhood with a very upscale shopping mall “Quicentro” just around the corner and many places to eat in addition to the hotel’s own restaurant.
We were very impressed with the politeness and service of all the staff right from bell boy, reception staff to the dining room waiters. Everyone had a welcoming smile and eagerness to help. We did not speak or understand a word of Spanish, but we never had difficulty in communicating.
The décor and layout of the room was inviting. The cleanliness, the quality of our mattress, and the facilities in the room was to the international ‘Sheraton Standard’ and more. There was in-room complimentary Wi-Fi also. The breakfast buffet with wide spread of breads, cold cuts, chesses, yogurt, eggs and some local delicacies was wonderful. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We stayed one night at the Sheraton Quito on the way back from Galapagos. It's a nice, clean hotel at a fair price. As mentioned in other reviews, it is located just across from a mall (with an ATM). There is a subway and KFC right across the street. My wife had a craving for fried chicken after a week on the boat.

I was not a big fan of the carpet in the rooms but it was not a real issue. The room was the right size. The water was hot. The room was clean. The employees were attentive and friendly. The wifi was free downstairs. Nothing to complain about that is for sure.

The Sheraton Quito is a lovely hotel that displays hospitality above and beyond average. The bus men, desk people all are outstanding. Their lobby always has a free snack, juice, coffee and water available. They have free wifi and computers for your use and will help you get connected on your device if you are new at such technology. The room was clean, and well appointed. The bed was the best I've experienced in a hotel. They have a restaurant in the hotel, but when asked about a breakfst place outside the hotel were happy to recommend a local eatery near the hotel. They called a cab for our trip to another part of the city and it was very reasonable and safe. We had secured our reservation froman online service and had no problem with the reservation. All the staff we encountered had a good command of Englisha nd were extremely helpful when asking questions or giving directions. I would recommend this hotel for a great stay in Quito, Ecuador.

I spent four days at this hotel. The staff was very cordial; greeting me and making sure that my needs were taken care of. The room was very clean and well setup. I didn't care for the type of carpet in the rooms but nothing major. The fitness area is quite nice as it has three treadmills, four stationary bikes and a variety of free weights. The breakfast buffet has many choices and is delicious. The lunch buffet is also very tasty. There were a lot of people attending meetings there, so the line to the lunch buffet got quite long at times. i felt very secure at the hotel as there were always a number of employees patrolling the lobby and public areas.

The hotel is about a 3 minute walk from an upscale mall and the surrounding area felt relatively safe. Of course, all standard precautions of walking in a big city apply.

Overall, I had a good stay and would definitely stay there again.

We had several issues with the Sheraton Quito:
1) Warning: If you make a reservation using an online travel service, chances are it will not be in the hotel's system when you arrive. We made reservations for 3 short stays in late December and early January, and none were in their system when we arrived. We also received an email from Booking.com asking about a no-show for one of our stays. At this point we were staying elsewhere in Quito, so we went to the Sheraton, and the front desk found our stay, printed a receipt for us, and said it would be straightened out the next day by the reservation department. The next day we received an email from Booking.com with the hotel's response that we were a no-show, that our other two stays were booked through Starwood (not true), and that the hotel owed nothing to Booking.com. Needless to say, we were frustrated and inconvenienced by their inappropriate behavior..
2) We were given a room on the 8th floor which we soon discovered was directly above VERY loud demolition work going on from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the 7th floor. Since the 8th floor is a club floor, we believed that we had been given club privileges to compensate for our inconvenience. However, when we went to the club breakfast room, we were denied access. Now, both my husband and I having spent many years in the resort hotel business, we understand that, when a full paying guest is significantly inconvenienced by the hotel, the guest deserves some form of compensation; however. the Sheraton Quito has not learned that, and we will not return nor recommend it.

It's a Sheraton. It's very nice, just like every other Sheraton. It is located across the street from a great upscale mall, so there is some place safe to walk around in the evening, and the hotel is fairly close to the airport. The rooms are fine, is a very standard Sheraton way. The service in the hotel is limited by the fact that very few people seem to speak English. Our daughter called us twice and each time had difficulties reaching our room because of the language barrier at the front desk.

The Sheraton is a great option to stay in Quito. I usually stay here when I visit Quito. They offer an excellent breakfast buffet and is included for most room rates. Make sure it is included if not you may pay about $18.00-$20.00. Breakfast includes many types of breads, cheeses, meat cut, and warm dishes. Several juices to choose from as well as cereals, yogurts, etc. It also includes an omelet/ eggs station. Your eggs will be prepared to your liking.

They also offered an excellent airport transfer, but keep in mind that the new airport opens this coming Feb 20 and it is about 1 hour from Quito city. It seemd transfer will not be offered anymore, but they could be scheduling your transportation (about $30.00, still not decided
The room was very comfortable and clean. The rooms on the 7th floor have been newly remodeled and they look great. Most rooms are updated clean comfortable, modern look. I do not think you will be disappointed with the rooms. Very good matress and pillows. Free internet as well.

The location of this hotel is great. It is in a high end area close to embassies as well as one of the best malls in Quito (Quicentro), which means you will have access to stores, restaurants, pharmacies, groceries store, etc you will find several restaurants within a walking distance. Behind the hotel on the 6 de Dicembre Ave, you will find the ECOVIA. (Articulated Buses) for 25 cents, you can ride this bus to the Indian and souvenirs markets about 5 minutes from the hotel (Pretty safe area)

All the staff was, very friendly, helpful and hospitable. Always eager to help and aware of your needs. I would highly recommend this hotel.
