Stayed at this hotel for several days to attend a business meeting, which was held in the hotel. The hotel itself is very large, and fairly standard business fare. It you're looking for a hotel with charm/special ambience, this is not it. However, the room was comfortable and the meeting spaces quite suitable/appropriate. The hotel is centrally located, next to a park and just a block away from an arts/crafts market. Since I spent so much time in the hotel, it was nice to escape to both of these during breaks in the meeting. The market was a nice place to buy locally produced goods and souvenirs. Old town Quito is a relatively quick and inexpensive ($3-5) cab ride away. The hotel buffet breakfast had a huge assortment of food! We were given coupons for internet access (computers are available in the lobby) which was nice/convenient. Overall, this was a good place for a business meeting and would probably be fine for leisure travelers as well. The only downside is that it's big and little sterile -- once inside, you could be anywhere in the world -- so if you want a place with more local flavor, you might consider other properties.

My partner and I spent our last night of a two week Ecuador vacation here. I've stayed in many Hiltons in many cities over the years, and this was one of the best. I could only wish that this level of service and attention to detail prevailed at Hilton hotels in the U.S. Staff were exceptional, at every interaction. One example: wondering the main lobby area to check out which restaurant to have dinner in, a staff person stopped to help direct us and ended up giving us a personal mini-tour of all the restaurants/bars, and describing both the style, menu and pricing of each. We ended up at the cocktail lounge and then the sushi restaurant, which is in the inner courtyard of the hotel. Both were excellent. Our room was upgraded to club level due to gold status; grand view of the park. Food available at both the evening happy hour and breakfast the next morning was exceptional, including many Ecuadoran specialties -- not just the usual crackers and nuts I've had elsewhere.

My only criticism is that the health club locker rooms and facilities are a bit dated, and a little run down. It is below street level and open windows let in street noise (and fumes). There is a nice steam room (with fresh eucalyptus!), sauna, and showers. Pool and whirlpool are outside.

I wanted to stay at this place because of its location. I requested a standard Exec floor (17th) for a corporate rate of $115. I asked to be picked at the airport. They wanted $8 per head. OK I said, is that how you want to make money off a guest? The shuttle never came anyway and I had to take a taxi. The night bellhop graciously refunded me the fare.

When I got there, they insisted on putting me in the new wing with a king suite at $200. Of course no other room was available. I checked out the very next day.

Paid $150/night for a standard room, $200/night for double suite. Great gym, buffet, special club floor food w/ free drinks and happy hour food. Luxurious rooms, bathroom, etc. A great luxury after our Galapagos trip. Short and accessible trips to airport and all major attractions. After night the Mariscal neighborhood is admittedly less safe, we felt perfectly okay using taxis and common sense. Restaurant is 24 hours which was great on January 1st when everything is "Feriado" and closed for holidays.

Please understand that all the people who work at this Hilton were incredibly nice and the hotel is gorgeous with every 5 star ammenity imaginable EXCEPT windows that seal the noise out and hot water. We had a gorgeous view of the city and could hear the noise from it when we checked in. Little did we know that the noise continues until 1130 pm. The front desk offered to move us when at 1000 pm we felt like we were sleeping on a gorgeous bed in the middle of the street. We did not want to move because we were already in our pajamas and had a plane to catch early the next morning.
We later found out from another family who were on the Hilton's free shuttle to the airport (a nice surprise) that their room did not hear the street but instead had the pleasure of hearing the disco all night.
We also had only tepid water in the shower that kept turning cold. We even called the desk to see if maybe there was some secret to getting hot water. We had even run the faucet a long time and felt so guilty about wasting so much water. When the man came to show us how to turn the water on (there was no secret) he told us it was hot, but it was definitely not.
It is too bad because everything else about the hotel is perfect--great location, amenities, etc. Our family just likes hot water in our shower when it is cold outside and we like to have it quiet in our room when we sleep.

Good room, nice staff, great food. Has three eateries – a café, Japanese Sushi ad a restaurant. Only tried the café which is highly recommended. Located in the newer part of town next to shops and a park.

We stayed three nights as part of a tour. The room was spacious and nice with awful Hilton beds. We have these in the UK, I'd hoped they would be different in South America. Not just rock hard but if you press down the whole mattress goes down, it doesn't adjust to your body shape. Hence no sleep and painful shoulder. The room is generally good but can be noisy as the window is large and thin, no sound insulation.

Breakfast is very good, although I never got to have eggs as the cook was always fully occupied overcooking omelettes! The restaurant was OK, just average. Pasta is overcooked. The Italian restaurant is just an elevated section empty except for the odd tour group.

The hotel staff were excellent, friendly and helpful at all times. I think the hotel is well run but hamstrung by the Hilton beds and approach to cooking. If only it wasn't run by Hilton it would be good.
